DODA: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Doda, Harvinder Singh, convened a crucial meeting of the District Cooperative Development Committee (DCDC) to assess the progress and implementation of the world's largest Grain Storage Plan within the cooperative sector. The meeting, held in the chamber of the Deputy Commissioner, aimed to ensure seamless execution and efficient monitoring of this ambitious project.
During the meeting, the Deputy Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Nisaki Ul Farooq, presented a detailed overview of possible land selection for setting up the food storages. Discussions also covered the establishment of Jan Aushadhi Kendras, Kisan Samriddhi Kendras (PMKSKs), fertilizer shops, and the computerization of all PACS (Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies) under the cooperative sector.
The DDC directed the creation of a project to support the activities of all PACS under the cooperative sector and asked for the target of FPOs (Farmer Producer Organizations) to be achieved within the month. The DDC also directed the concerned officers to find a solution for the land required for setting up the food storages within a week.
Detailed discussions were held on the formation of FPOs and the establishment of food processing units. The Deputy Registrar informed the chair about two FPUs that are under process.The meeting was attended by key officials, including the Additional District Development Commissioner, Pran Singh, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Deputy Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Nisaki Ul Farooq (who served as the convener), Assistant Director (FCS&CA), Assistant Director (Fisheries), District Development Manager (NABARD), and representatives from various agricultural and cooperative organizations.
Discussions focused on the current status of the project, challenges encountered, and strategies to overcome them. Emphasis was placed on enhancing coordination among different departments to expedite the project's implementation. The committee also deliberated on potential directions for future actions, including optimizing storage infrastructure, improving logistical support, and ensuring the quality and safety of stored grains.
It was informed during the meeting that around 27 PACS under the cooperative sector are currently operating. The main agenda discussed in the meeting included the world's largest grain storage plan, PM Kisan Samriddhi Kendras (PMKSKs), PM Jan Aushadhi Kendras, registration of new PACS in uncovered panchayats, registration of new fisheries in uncovered panchayats, registration of new dairies in uncovered panchayats, establishment of food processing units, and PACS as FPOs. It was informed that out of the 27 PACS, 8 are already doing fertilizer business, 10 have received F/L, 5 have applied for F/L, and 4 are under process.
By the end of the meeting, the participants had outlined a comprehensive action plan with specific timelines and responsibilities. The DDC expressed confidence in the committee's ability to meet the project's objectives and contribute significantly to the agricultural sector's growth in Doda. This initiative, seen as a landmark in cooperative efforts, is expected to bolster food security and enhance the livelihoods of farmers in the region.
KISHTWAR: The District Level Task Force committee meeting chaired by the Deputy Commissioner of Kishtwar Dr. Devansh Yadav, held today to deliberate on and approve self-employment cases under PMEGP sponsored by the District Industries Centre (DIC) Kishtwar and the Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) Kishtwar. This meeting underscores a significant stride towards fostering entrepreneurship and economic development in the district.
The meeting saw the participation of esteemed officials, including the General Manager of DIC Kishtwar, Phulail Singh, the Functional Manager of DIC Kishtwar Nenait Sharma, the Lead District Manager (LDM) of Kishtwar, the Director of RSETI, and representatives from the Zonal Head of JK Bank Kishtwar and KVIB. Their collective expertise and insights were instrumental in the decision-making process.
During this session, 44 aspiring entrepreneurs presented their cases for self-employment projects. After meticulous evaluation and consideration, the Task Force approved a total amount of Rs.192 lakhs for these projects. This substantial funding is designated for further sanctioning by the relevant banks to the approved candidates, facilitating the initiation of their entrepreneurial ventures.
The GM DIC Kishtwar Phulail Singh highlighted the crucial role of self-employment in generating job opportunities and enhancing economic self-sufficiency within the district. The sanctioned funding is anticipated to significantly invigorate the local economy by enabling enterprising individuals to establish and grow their businesses, thereby contributing to Kishtwar's holistic development.
KATHUA: Additional District Development Commissioner Kathua Surinder Mohan, today chaired a meeting of District Cooperative Development Committee (DCDC) to discuss the various Plan scheme being implemented by Cooperative department, here at DC Office Complex Kathua. CAHO Dr Yugal Kishor, DDM NABARD Amit Kumar, Deputy Registrar Cooperative Societies Tasbina Sheikh, and other members of the Committee were also present.
At the outset, Deputy Registar Cooperative Societies apprised the DC about several ongoing schemes of the department viz, Computerization of PACS, converting PACS to PMKSK, JAN Aushadhi Kendra and formation of new Farmer producer organisations (FPOs) and 100% adoption of model bylaws by the PACS etc.
The DR informed the committee that Computerization is completed for all 55 functional PACS besides they have been on boarded with the CSC IDs to function as CSC centre in their respective villages. She further said that the PACS were also being encouraged to operate PMKSK for fertilizer distribution.
The DR further apprised the committee that 3 new multipurpose PACS have been formed in uncovered panchayats/Villages of Kathua besides a total of 16 FPOs have also been registered. Regarding Jan Aushadhi Kendra, DR CS informed the ADDC that currently Basantpur MPCS and Korepunnu MPCS are operating JAN Ayushdi kendra, besides 3 more PACS namely Billawar MPCS, Ramkote MPCS and Bani MPCS are under process to get permission from Pharmacy council to operate as JAK.
About the world largest decentralized grain storage plan, DR informed that 5 MPCS namely Rajbagh, Parole, Keriyan Gandyal, Devochak and Salore have been proposed to create such storage facility wherein Rajbagh MPCS has been declared as pilot project.
The ADDC assured that issues related to the land for the world largest decentralized grain storage plan will be taken up with the concerned Revenue Authority on priority. Regarding utilization of available infrastructure for the larger good of the people, the ADDC directed the department to use computers of the Cooperative societies for extending digital services to the members as well as the common rural populace.
JAMMU: BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh today paid a rich tribute to the Army jawans who sacrificed their life during the Kargil operation and said that the nation would always remain indebted to them for protecting their motherland. Addressing a gathering in Ramban district, Chugh said the Kargil operation has completed 25 years but the nefarious designs of Pakistan are still fresh in the minds of the people.
Paying a glorious tribute to the then Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee, Chugh said the BJP has always stood to protect the national interest whereas other parties led by the Abdullahs and Muftis have been compromising the national interest in favour of Pakistan.
He said the Yuva Morcha of the BJP would carry the "Vijay Jyoti" to all parts of J&K to observe the Vijay Diwas and serve a warning to Pakistan against plotting subversive designs on the Indian soil.
Chugh said under the Modi government adequate infrastructure has been built for the Army and the security forces so that they can take on the inimical forces head-on. He said the prime minister, by visiting Kargil, has served a warning to Pakistan and at the same time has assured the jawans on the border that the nation stood firmly with them.
