SAMBA: A seven-day Scientific Beekeeping training programme organised by District Agriculture Officer Samba under the National Beekeeping and Honey Mission (NBHM) was inaugurated at Conference Hall DC office, Nandini Hills, Samba by Assistant Commissioner Revenue Samba Ajay Bharti in presence of Chief Agriculture Officer Samba Dr. Rakesh Khajuria and KVK Head Samba Dr. Sanjay Khajuria.

25 beekeepers, farmers, and young entrepreneurs from district Samba participated in the training programme, gaining expertise in hive operations, colony management, and hands-on training. While speaking on the occasion, the ACR urged the participants to gain firsthand knowledge of basic beekeeping.

Chief Agriculture Officer Samba Dr. Rakesh Khajuria highlighted the potential of apiculture in enhancing farmers’ income and emphasized the importance of adopting scientific techniques in beekeeping. He also elaborated on various apiculture-based schemes being implemented by the department to promote beekeeping as a sustainable and profitable livelihood option for farming families of District Samba

Dr. Sanjay Khajuria elaborated upon the modern scientific interventions and their important role in beekeeping/ Apiculture & pollination. Dr. Vishav Vir Singh (resource person) emphasised about the basic principles involved in successful commercial beekeeping.
