JAMMU: Dogri Sanstha Jammu organized an impressive and intellectually engaging Book Release function of the Dogri novel “Badlde Rang” at Writers Club Jammu . The event witnessed the presence of prominent literary figures, academicians, young writers, and a large number of Dogri language enthusiasts,. The function was presided over by Padmashri Prof. Lalit Magotra, President of Dogri Sanstha Jammu, while the Chief Guest was Prof. R. D. Sharma, former Vice Chancellor of the University of Jammu. Prof. Veena Gupta, Vice President of Dogri Sanstha Jammu, graced the occasion as Guest of Honour.

The highlight of the event was the formal unveiling and release of “Badlde Rang”, authored by noted Dogri writer Inderjeet Kesar. The novel, as discussed during the function, presents a sensitive and thought-provoking portrayal of changing social dynamics, human relationships, and emotional complexities in contemporary society.In his presidential address, Prof. Lalit Magotra emphasized the importance of nurturing regional languages through meaningful literary contributions.

He remarked that “Badlde Rang” stands as a mirror to society, portraying the evolving shades of human experience and reinforcing the cultural identity of the Dogri speaking community. He further highlighted that such works not only preserve linguistic heritage but also inspire the younger generation to remain connected with their roots while engaging with modern narratives.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Prof. R. D. Sharma appreciated the thematic richness and narrative strength of the novel. He stated that literature plays a crucial role in documenting societal changes and fostering intellectual dialogue, and added that “Badlde Rang” is a commendable effort that contributes meaningfully to the evolving corpus of Dogri literature .Prof. Veena Gupta underlined the need for stronger collaboration between academic institutions and literary organizations to promote regional languages and creative writing.

Sharing his thoughts, the author Inderjeet Kesar expressed that the novel is an honest attempt to capture the unnoticed transitions in human emotions, relationships, and social behavior. He noted that the inspiration for “Badlde Rang” comes from real-life experiences and the changing environment around us, where traditional values often intersect with modern realities.A detailed paper on the novel was presented by noted writer Ashok Khajuria.

The proceedings were gracefully conducted by Promila Manhas, whose articulate anchoring ensured a smooth and engaging flow of the programme. The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Pawan Verma, Secretary Dogri Sanstha Jammu.
