AWANTIPORA: The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), has been designated as the Regional Coordinating Centre for the prestigious IIT Bombay's e-Yantra Innovation Challenge (eYIC) 2024-25 for the Jammu and Kashmir region providing students across the region with an unparalleled platform to showcase their talents in innovation, problem-solving, and entrepreneurship. Fifty-nine teams from various universities and colleges of J&K are participating in eYIC 2024-25.
The e-Yantra Innovation Challenge (eYIC) 2024-25 focuses on solving real-world problems aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), emphasizing innovation for a sustainable future. Participants will address challenges in health, education, clean energy, and climate action, engaging in hands-on learning through MOOCs and real-world problem-solving, with expert guidance to develop impactful solutions for local and global issues. Winning teams can pitch their ideas for incubation, receive monthly stipends, and compete for âč10 lakh cash prizes and certificates.
The e-Yantra Lab at IUST, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and supported by a team of experts, will act as the central hub for the region. Participants will benefit from comprehensive support, including mentorship, resources, and training, to help them succeed in the competition and develop solutions that address global sustainability challenges.
The participating teams will not only compete for cash prizes and certificates but will also have the chance to pitch their ideas at SINE IIT Bombay, one of Indiaâs leading incubators. Successful teams may also secure internships at IIT Bombay, providing further opportunities for professional growth and exposure to cutting-edge innovation.
