POONCH: A blood donation camp and plantation drive was today organised amid huge community participation. The twin events aimed to promote the spirit of humanitarian service and environmental responsibility among students and citizens. The blood donation camp was facilitated by a team of District Hospital for the organizer- Jamia Zia Ul Uloom Group of Institutions, a private institution.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Tahir Mustafa Malik graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Principal of Government Degree College Professor Jagbir Singh and the Medical Superintendent District Hospital attended the program as special guests. In his address, ADC Tahir Mustafa Malik appreciated the initiative of the institution, stating that blood donation is the greatest gift one can offer to humanity, and planting trees is an investment in the planetâs future. He encouraged students to actively participate in such constructive community-oriented programs.
Medical officers and staff from District Hospital Poonch facilitated the blood donation process, ensuring smooth conduct under proper medical supervision. A large number of volunteers, students and faculty members came forward to donate blood, demonstrating strong social responsibility. The plantation drive conducted alongside the camp saw the planting of various saplings within the campus and surrounding areas, symbolizing growth, sustainability and care for the environment.
