AWANTIPORA: Continuing its unwavering fight against the menace of drug abuse, J&K Police today carried out the destruction of seized narcotic substances at the designated destruction site at Kashmir Healthcare Lassipora, Pulwama, strictly in accordance with the procedures laid down under the NDPS (Seizure, Storage, Sampling and Disposal) Rules, 2022.
The destruction was conducted under the supervision of the Drug Disposal Committee constituted by the competent authority. The entire process was carried out transparently in presence of the Officers from ANTF Kashmir, CID, Pollution Control Board and senior Police Officers, and other members of the committee, ensuring due compliance with all legal and environmental safeguards.
During the exercise, contraband substances which were destroyed include Charas (Cannabis Resin), Heroin, Poppy Straw, Codeine-based Syrups, Psychotropic Tablets/Capsules etc. The disposal of seized narcotics as per due process reflects the commitment of J&K Police towards maintaining transparency, accountability, and zero tolerance against drugs. J&K Police reiterates its resolve to continue the campaign against drug peddling and abuse with greater intensity to safeguard the youth and society at large.
