DODA: In a determined move towards achieving the national goal of 100% literacy, the School Education Department Doda successfully conducted the Third Foundational Literacy and Numeracy Assessment Test (FLNAT) under the centrally sponsored ULLAS (Understanding Lifelong Learning for All in Society) scheme.
The ULLAS programme, a flagship initiative of the Government of India, is designed to eradicate illiteracy by imparting essential literacy and numeracy skills to all non-literate individuals aged 15 years and above. The initiative aims to empower citizens through foundational education, promoting self-reliance and inclusive growth across all sections of society.
In Doda district, the literacy mission has witnessed impressive progress. As many as 37,870 non-literate individuals have been identified and registered on the ULLAS App. Building on last yearâs achievementâwhere 10,082 learners attained neo-literate statusâthe district this year successfully registered 13,200 learners who appeared for the Third FLNAT conducted across 336 examination centres established in various government schools.
The assessment was held smoothly under the overall guidance of State Project Director, ULLAS, Bhawani Rukwal and the supervision of Chief Education Officer Doda, Iqbal Hussain along with District Education Planning Officer (DEPO) Dr. Anis Ahmed. The programme was efficiently coordinated by District Nodal Officer, Kismat Singh Jaral and Lecturer HSS Dradhu with active support from Zonal Nodal Officers, teachers and field functionaries across the district.
The successful conduct of the Third FLNAT marks another milestone in Dodaâs ongoing literacy campaign. The School Education Departmentâs continued efforts underscore its commitment to promoting inclusive education and lifelong learning opportunities for all.
This sustained progress not only strengthens Dodaâs position in the march toward universal literacy but also contributes significantly to the national vision of educational empowerment and social transformation under the ULLAS mission.
