REASI: Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Nidhi Malik today chaired a meeting to review and finalize the arrangements for the upcoming festival of lights — Diwali. The meeting was held in the Video Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed key areas of preparedness for the upcoming festival, including security and traffic management, water supply and uninterrupted power supply. DC directed all concerned officers to ensure foolproof arrangements are in place to facilitate a smooth, safe and incident-free event.
DC directed the Police and SDRF departments to deploy adequate personnel at the Sports Stadium and other identified sites to deal with any exigency during the sale and bursting of firecrackers.
DC instructed The Fire and Emergency Services Department to keep fire tenders on standby to promptly respond to any fire-related emergencies. The Chief Medical Officer was directed to ensure that all health institutions, including the District Hospital, remain fully functional and prepared to handle any eventuality especially burn injuries.
Legal Metrology department were instructed to check market areas for price control, product quality and cleanliness, particularly focusing on sweets and gift items to ensure consumer safety.
She strictly directed that no unauthorized sale of firecrackers be allowed and instructed the Police Department to take stringent action against gambling and other illegal activities during the festive period.
DC Malik further directed the Municipal authorities to ensure cleanliness and enhance the festive ambiance in towns by adding decorative lighting and maintaining sanitation. ADC Rakesh Kumar, CMO, Dy. SP HQ, Tensildar, Xen PWD, EO MC Reasi and other officers were present.
