KISHTWAR: IRP-22nd Battalion organized a Seminar on “Drug Abuse and Preventions” at Government Degree College Chatroo Kishtwar under Civic Action Programme 2025-26.The objective of the event was, awareness among students about the harmful effects of drugs on the health of individuals, families and society at large.

As many as two-hundred students of the host College and local Government Model Hr. Secondary School attended the programme among these twenty participated in the seminar. They expressed their deep concern over the growing menace of drugs, emphasizing that addiction not only destroys individual lives but also weakens the moral and social fabric. The participants urged everyone especially the youth to act as ambassadors of change and to pledge for a drug-free future.

The closing ceremony was graced by the College Principal Dr. Ved Kumar Principal as Chief Guest. Vinod Kumar Principal Govt. Model H.S.S Chatroo & senior officers of IRP-22ND Battalion delivered a powerful message highlighting that drug abuse is one of the most serious challenges confronting society today. The officers encouraged the students to stay vigilant, guide their peers and contribute positively to the welfare of the community.

To encourage and recognize the participation of students, trophies, cash prizes and participation certificates were presented to the deserving students who showcased outstanding performances during the seminar.
