DC Samba reviews Diwali preparations

SAMBA: Deputy Commissioner Samba Ayushi Sudan today chaired a high-level meeting with key officials to review and finalize the preparations for the upcoming Diwali festival. The meeting focused on ensuring a safe, secure, and smooth celebration for the residents of the district.

During the meeting, various crucial aspects were thoroughly discussed, including security arrangements, traffic management, health and sanitation, price regulation, fire safety and monitoring of firecracker vendors.

DC Sudan laid special emphasis on traffic segregation to ensure the smooth plying of vehicles during peak festive hours. She directed the police department to deploy adequate security personnel in coordination with the traffic police to maintain law and order.

The Deputy Commissioner also stressed the importance of price regulation and monitoring of essential commodities, instructing the concerned departments to keep a close check on market rates to prevent any undue price inflation during the festival.

Highlighting the significance of public health during the festivities, DC Sudan called for strict food safety inspections and directed the enforcement of hygiene standards, particularly at eateries and food stalls.

Instructions were also issued to the Health, Sanitation and Fire Services departments to ensure they are fully equipped and manned to handle any emergencies. She also directed for the proper inspection of firecracker vendors, ensuring compliance with safety norms.

The DC urged all departments to work in close coordination to ensure a safe, clean and joyous Diwali for all citizens. The meeting was attended by ADC Samba Jagdish Singh,AD Food, All Tehsildars, CMO, DIO, representatives from police and traffic department.
