RAMBAN: In line with the directions of the Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Alyas Khan, the Office of the Assistant Labour Commissioner has initiated a weekly awareness and registration Camp at Banihal town. The objective of the initiative is to enhance awareness about the labour laws and welfare schemes under the Jammu & Kashmir Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (JKBOCWWB).
At today’s camp, workers and employers were imparted guidance and on-the-spot assistance related to Registration under JKBOCWWB. They were acquainted with Contract Labour Act and the Shops & Establishment Act and redressal of day-to-day grievances of workers and employers.
The officials provided an array of services with 13 on the spot Fresh Registration and 26 renewals, redress of grievances pertaining to Name Change, Mobile Number Update and Family Details Update among others. The Workers were also informed about their rights. The applicants seeking registrations under J&K Shops and Est. Act and Contract Labour Act were also made aware of the process.
The Assistant Labour Commissioner has appealed the workers, contractors, employers and the general public to actively participate in the weekly camp to avail themselves of the benefits and resolve any labour-related issues.
