SOPORE: As part of its sustained community outreach and youth engagement initiative, J&K Police organized a series of educational and awareness programmes across Police District Sopore, focusing on legal literacy, social responsibility, and drug prevention. The programmes were conducted in various schools and educational institutions, drawing active participation from students, teachers, and parents.
At Government High School Seelo, an Awareness-cum-Quiz Programme on New Criminal Laws (NCL) was held to familiarize students with the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) 2023, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA) 2023. Students took part in interactive discussions and quizzes designed to build understanding of rights, responsibilities, and the broader legal reforms under the new system.
At Government Higher Secondary School Dangerpora, J&K Police facilitated a Parent-Teacher Meeting in collaboration with the school administration. The meeting emphasized the role of parents, teachers, and religious leaders in shaping the moral and educational foundation of youth. Participants shared feedback, discussed challenges, and reaffirmed their shared commitment to quality education and child development in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Additionally, at Government High School Harwan, J&K Police organized a Drug Awareness Programme to sensitize students about the dangers of substance abuse. Officers and educators highlighted the devastating impact of drugs on individuals, families, and communities while encouraging collective responsibility to fight this menace.
