JAMMU: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the BJYM (the youth wing of BJP) led by its senior leaders, today, held several protests across the region to protest against the derogatory statement of Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary, made against the visionary & progressive ruler of Jammu & Kashmir, Maharaja Hari Singh ji. BJP leaders burnt the effigy of Deputy Chief Minister and aired slogans against him and in favour of Maharaja Hari Singh ji.
BJPO Secretary Ayodhya Gupta, BJYM state president, Arun Prabhat, Rajesh Gupta BJP District president Jammu, Naresh Jasrotia District President Jammu South, Purnima Sharma Ex Deputy Mayor participated in a strong protest against Dy CM Surinder Choudhary at Kachi Chawni, Jammu.
Arun Prabhat Jamwal, while speaking on the occasion, said that Maharaja Hari Singh ji was a popular and people-friendly ruler of Jammu & Kashmir. He said that Maharaja Hari Singh ji was a great patriot who was ahead of his time in promoting social reforms for the welfare of all sections of society. He was a crusader against social untouchability, banned social evils, promoted education for women and the underprivileged. He sought immediate apology from the Deputy CM for his derogatory remarks.
Rajesh Gupta said that Maharaja Hari Singh ji loved his people and had a Concern for the Poor and Marginalized. His life was marked by courage and conviction for the betterment of society, he said and added that Deputy CM has hurt the sentiments of Crores of people.
Naresh Singh Jasrotia said that Maharaja Hari Singh was committed to aid the poor and the disadvantaged and he championed the cause of women empowerment, education, healthcare, and socio-economic upliftment of the marginalized. He said that Dy CM has deliberately tried to tarnish the image of a popular ruler of J&K.
Purnima Sharma recalled the words of Maharaja Hari Singh ji “As a ruler I have no religion, All Religions are mine and my religion is justice.” She said that Maharaja Hari Singh was a great visionary, Progressive thinker, true patriot, economic reformer, and social worker who brought many reforms for the welfare of the public.
Jeet Angral, Anu Gupta, Abhishek Slathia, Adarsh Jathiyar, Anil Angral, Swati Sharma, Kushant Dafara and others were among the prominent leaders of party who participated in the protest at Kachi Chawni.
