- Directs installation of additional fire hydrants in interior areas
KISHTWAR: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Pankaj Kumar Sharma today chaired a meeting to review fire safety arrangements in Kishtwar town and its adjoining areas, with a focus on strengthening emergency response infrastructure.
The Deputy Commissioner discussed the need for installing additional fire hydrants in the areas where fire brigade vehicles face difficulty in accessing narrow lanes and congested localities.
The DC directed the Executive Engineer, PHE to prepare Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for the installation of additional fire hydrants in such areas to ensure timely response during fire emergencies.
It was informed that the installation of additional fire hydrants shall be undertaken in the first phase within the town area, prioritizing locations where fire brigade vehicles cannot easily reach.
In subsequent phases, the facility will be extended to other areas facing similar accessibility challenges. The initiative aims to strengthen fire safety preparedness and enhance the capability of emergency services to effectively tackle fire incidents across Kishtwar town and surrounding localities.
The meeting was attended by SSP Kishtwar Naresh Singh, ADC Kishtwar Pawan Kotwal, CEO Municipal Council Kishtwar Mirza Mumtaz Iqbal, ExEn Jal Shakti Kishtwar Rohit Wadera, Incharge Fire & Emergency Kishtwar, besides other officers and concerned Staff.
