RAMBAN: Mushtaq Ahmed Malik, a resident of Panchayat Danmasta, is beaming with pride as he showcases his newly constructed pucca house, built under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) scheme. This sturdy abode is a testament to the government's commitment to providing affordable housing and employment opportunities to rural India.
Mushtaq's family, including his wife and two children, previously lived in a makeshift hut, vulnerable to harsh weather conditions. The fear of collapse was always looming, and the family's safety was a constant concern. However, their fortunes changed when Mushtaq's application for a PMAY-G house was approved.
With the financial assistance from the government, Mushtaq was able to construct a robust, pucca house, complete with all basic amenities. The house has become a symbol of hope and a better life for the family.
"I am deeply grateful to the government for providing us with a solid roof over our heads," Mushtaq said, his eyes shining with gratitude. "Our new home is a dream come true, and we feel safe and secure. The additional 90-day job under MGNREGA has also helped me support my family during these challenging times."
Mushtaq's story highlights the dual benefits of PMAY-G, which not only provides affordable housing but also generates employment opportunities through the MGNREGA scheme. The job card has enabled Mushtaq to work on various projects, earning a steady income and supporting his family's well-being.
