KATHUA: In a decisive action against violation of Food Safety and Standards Act (FSSA) 2006, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kathua Ranjit Singh has imposed Rs 3.03 lakh fine against erring traders.

The punitive measures targeted traders involved in the distribution of substandard and misbranded food items. The offenders (Business Establishments), including manufacturers, distributors and retailers operate in Kathua, Billawar, Hiranagar and Basohli divisions.

The action has been taken in line with the commitment of the Kathua administration to safeguard public health. The erring commercial establishments have been directed to comply with food safety regulations and provide high-quality, standardized products to consumers, thus preserving public trust in the market.
