JAMMU: Directorate of Fire and Emergency Services Jammu in collaboration with the People’s Hut Foundation and supported by Ujala Cygnus JK Medicity Jammu organized a Day long medical camp at the HeadQuarters of Fire and Emergency Services, Gandhi Nagar Jammu focusing on providing essential medical check-ups and medicines to the Jawans, local population, particularly elders, women, and children.
These camps Under "Mobile Health Clinic Program" are part of the People’s Hut Foundation’s commitment to contribute to the well-being and healthcare accessibility of citizens in the country, specifically J&K. At these medical camps, patients had the opportunity to consult with specialist doctors, including Physicians, Physiotherapists, Gynecologists,Opthomologists, Dentists, Orthopaedic specialists and Diagnostic Services ensuring a wide range of medical issues could be addressed comprehensively.
The camp was organised under the supervision and directions of Sh. Alok Kumar (IPS) ADGP Fire and Emergency Services and while inaugurating the camp praised the commitment of People's Hut Foundation in the field of healthcare. He appreciated the coordinated efforts of Sh. P.K Raina, Deputy Director Fire and Emergency Services and Dr. Manju, Medical Officer at F&ES Jammu.
The initiative by the NGO People’s Hut Foundation highlights its multifaceted role in the region, extending to humanitarian and social welfare activities. The Director and CEO of the foundation Dr. Rohit Koul said the availability of specialist consultations marks a significant step towards improving healthcare access and outcomes for the local population, who often face challenges in accessing quality medical care. A total of 218 Patients were treated in the camp and diagnostic services were availed by 184 Patients. The initiative has been widely appreciated by the communities, reinforcing the positive impact of such outreach programs on the lives of the people in J&K.
Ayush Department also dispersed their services in the camp under the guidance of Dr. Nuzhat Bashir Shah, Director Ayush J&K. The Diagnostic services were provided by Sure Diagnostics Lab Jammu, Ortho and Physiotherapy camp was supported by the 4 Specialist Physiotherapists from KIRF headed by Dr. Imran Khan while as Eye Testing and Screening was provided by Sharp Sight Eye Hospitals Jammu. Overall the camp was supported by Ujala Cygnus JK Medicity Jammu under the mentorship of Dr. Harmeet Singh, MD and Medical Director at Ujala Cygnus JK Medicity Jammu.
Dr. Ritu Koul, Director and COO at People's Hut Foundation said the NGO remains dedicated to its role in ensuring the well-being of the citizens, as demonstrated by the successful conduct of these medical camps. Such endeavours not only provide immediate health benefits but also strengthen the bond between the local communities, fostering a sense of trust and mutual respect for the non-profit organisations.
