- DC Srinagar asks resource persons to execute campaign in missionary zeal with social responsibility to combat drug abuse effective manner
SRINAGAR: District Administration Srinagar Saturday organized an introductory-cum-training session at Banquet Hall here for Resource persons nominated for the IEC campaign against drugs. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat presided over the training session and highlighted the significance of the IEC campaign aimed to protect vulnerable age groups from drug menace.
The DC asked the nominated resource persons to execute the campaign in missionary zeal with social responsibility to combat drug abuse in an effective manner. He emphasized the importance of the training to implement the IEC campaign effectively. Dr Bilal underlined the measures in place to curb drug abuse, and stressed the need for direct engagement with vulnerable sections of society to achieve better results, the campaign's objectives.
He further emphasized the need for proper training and knowledge among resource persons for better implementation of the initiative. During the session, measures for handling drug abuse victims, available rehabilitation facilities and moral responsibility of stakeholders in addressing drug menace was also discussed threadbare.
Chief Planning officer, District Social welfare Officer, HoD Psychiatry Department SMHS Hospital, senior Police Officer and Resource persons from Health, Police, IMHANs, Excise, Education, RDD, SMC, Social Welfare and other concerned stakeholders were present at the event.
