World Unani Day is celebrated on February 11 every year to honour the birth anniversary of Hakim Ajmal Khan, a renowned Unani practitioner, scholar, and visionary. Recognized as the pioneer of Unani medicine in India, Hakim Ajmal Khan played a vital role in the revival and development of this traditional system of medicine.
This day serves as an opportunity to raise awareness about the benefits of Unani medicine and its relevance in contemporary healthcare Prof. (Dr.) Iffat Hassan Principal Government Medical College, Srinagar who also holds the charge of Unani Medical College Ganderbal, attended the celebration as Chief Guest.
Speaking on the occasion she emphasized the relevance of Unani medicine in contemporary healthcare and reiterated that GUMC Ganderbal is committed to advancing research and education in this field, ensuring that traditional wisdom is effectively integrated with scientific advancements.
