JAMMU: Mother’s Day was celebrated by the management committee of Rehan Basera (Home for Urban Homeless) in the premeses of Rehan Basera Boria Basti, Gorkha Nagar, Bahu Fort, Jammu. Elderly mothers namely, Smt Darshna Devi, Surishta Devi, MASI, Bala devi, and Kiran Bala were honoured on this occasion.

While speaking on this occasion shamlal Basson said that mother is the epitome of love, care, support and is the biggest warrior, She teaches us to walk, eat, write, speak and learn. It is the day for celebration of motherhood and honouring motherhood. This day teaches us to respect and love our mothers. On this day, we should make our mothers feel proud and happy.

We should respect our mothers not only on mothers day but every day is mother day. Mothers day holds immense significance as it provides an opportunity to reflect on this unconditional love and care mother shower upon their children. It serves as a reminder to acknowledge and cherish the countless sacrifices mother make for their families often without seeking recognition.

Smt veena Bakshi, manager Rehan Basera said that mothers day is a meaningful occasion that allows us to express our gratitude and admiration for the extraordinary women who shape our lives. It serves as a reminder to cherish and celebrate the invaluable bond between mothers and children. She remembered great women like mother
teressa, krantijyoti Savitri Bai Phule, Rose Park. Savitri Bai Phule opened 1st girl school on 1st January 1848 and gave pen in the hands of girls. Those who attended function are included as Om Prakash, Rattan lal, Aditya dutta, Rajni devi, Veena devi, Rita devi and inmates of Rehan Basera.
