JAMMU: Joint Action Committee of SC/ST/OBC organizations organized a press conference regarding release of Phule Film. At the outset members of all organizations expressed extreme happiness on the release of Phule Film throughout the country. While addressing the media person, Sham Lal Basson, president All J&K Dalit Chetna Manch and Ex Councillor said that Phule Film is based on the lives of Jyotirao Phule and Savitri Bai Phule.
The film stars are Pratik Gandhi and Patralekha. The film was scheduled to release on 11 April 2025 (Birth Anniversary of Jyoti Rao Phule ) but got postponed to 25th April 2025. It was released on 27th April 2025 at wave mall, Jammu. The film was directed and written by Anant Mahadeven.
It is a proud movement for all Bahujans and women. The Phule couple opened the country's first girls school on 1st January 1848 at Bhidewada Pune in Maharashtra which is also known as Kranti Shala. This act was met with strong opposition. Savitri Bai Phule faced extreme harassment, enduring attacks with stones and cow dung Yet, this ostracism did not dete the couple from their mission.
Sham Basson further expressed that he met with Nitatai Ramakant Hole, descendant of Phule couple during March 2013. This iron lady along with other organizations started a struggle to transform the country's first Girls school into National Memorial. It is a proud movement for all of us that work on the National Memorial has been started at Bhidewada Pune.
Basson appealed all public in general and Bahujan Samaj in particular to watch this film. The film is worth watching. While briefing the media Sunita Bangotra Principal Savitri Bai Phule Modern School Bari Brahmana and president Savitri Bai Phule Mahila Sangathan appealed to all women and particularly students to watch a Phule movie which is worth watching.
She said Bahujans and women are facing sexual and other harassment in spite of provisions enshrined in the constitution of India. We can well imagine the condition of Shudra and women when there were no laws in favour of Bahujans and women. About 177 years ago when the country's first Girls school was established. Today women are not less than men in any field. They are DM,CM,PM. It is because of education. Now we should know who has snatched a pen from the hands of girls and who has given a pen in their hand which can be differentiated from Phule Movie.
It is not out of place to mention here that the country's first school was not meant for a particular caste, It was meant for girls from all castes. Now the university of Pune is named SavitriBai Phule University. Many institutions and schemes have been started in the name of the Phule couple. All of us know that Phule couple deserves the Bharat Ratna Award. The Govt. of India should consider this demand.
