UDHAMPUR: Municipal Council Udhampur, under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Saloni Rai, today organized an awareness programme here at Gole market as part of the ongoing Information, Education & Communication campaign under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. The programme was presided over by Chief Executive Officer Municipal Council Rajinder Digra.
Resource persons from various departments spoke on the social, economic and health-related consequences of drug addiction. The event also featured a yoga session led by students promoting a healthy and balanced lifestyle, a powerful rap performance themed on the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, and a series of cultural presentations aimed at reinforcing the anti-drug message in an engaging and impactful manner.
While addressing the participants, the EO underlined the critical role of parents in identifying early warning signs of drug abuse and emphasized the need for vigilant monitoring and timely intervention to safeguard youth from falling into the trap of addiction.
He further informed that the District Administration is conducting a series of awareness campaigns to sensitize the public about the devastating consequences of drug abuse. He appealed to citizens to stay alert and report any drug-related activities to the concerned authorities to ensure timely rehabilitation of the affected individuals.
