JAMMU: The Indian Institute of Management Jammu inaugurated the Fifteenth batch of the Nurturing Future Leadership Program on 5th Jan 2026 at Vedanta, MDP Centre, Jagti. Organized under the aegis of the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme, Ministry of Education, Government of India, this initiative reflects IIM Jammu's commitment to academic excellence and leadership development.  The training program consisted of 18 participants from different parts of the countryand is fully funded by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.

Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean Faculty and Research, IIM Jammu presided over the inaugural ceremony. The inaugural ceremony commenced with the lamp lighting ceremony.This unique residential training program, scheduled from 05th Jan to 09th Jan 2026, is designed to cultivate leadership capabilities among educators at various levels, creating a pool of potential leaders ready to drive generational transitions. Delivered by IIM Jammu’s faculty, the program aims to help institutions enhance their leadership potential. The inaugural ceremony was also graced by Prof. Sanjeev Pathak, Chairperson, Executive Education and Consultancy (EE & C), IIM Jammu; Prof. Nitin Upadhyay, Dean Academics and Program Director and Dr. Ramswarup Bhaskar.

Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean Faculty and Research, IIM Jammu, highlighted the diversity of participants from across domains and regions of India, noting that the programme goes beyond best practices to reflect on the institute’s academic journey since 2016. He said the programme is uniquely designed by drawing insights from leading universities, making it a rare and enriching opportunity for participants. Emphasizing co-creation, dialogue, and discussion, he stated that the programme enables participants to collectively explore ways to strengthen their Institutes and scale its impact. He further underscored that education extends beyond classrooms, fostering knowledge creation, evolving thought processes, and meaningful takeaways that influence life well beyond the Institute.

Prof. Sanjeev Pathak, Chairperson, Executive Education and Consultancy, IIM Jammu, welcomed the participants and wished them a very happy New Year. He highlighted that the NFLP, now in its 15th batch, is among the longest-running programmes of its kind in India, driven by IIM Jammu’s strong focus on quality and sustained referrals. Emphasizing that the programme is not conventional, he said it is designed to strengthen individual leadership and enhance thinking, leading to meaningful transformation. Conducted under the aegis of the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme, Ministry of Education, Government of India, the programme promotes bi-directional learning, joint pedagogy, and rich peer interactions. He encouraged participants to engage fully, noting that such opportunities for learning and co-creation are rare and valuable.

Prof. Nitin Upadhyay, Dean Academics and Program Director, IIM Jammu, highlighted that the 15th batch of the programme is being conducted under the aegis of the Malaviya Mission Training Program. He emphasized that the changing dynamics of education and the implementation of NEP 2020 require faculty to assume larger leadership roles and engage with all facets of academic and administrative responsibilities. The programme will cover key themes such as leadership definition, generational and team dynamics, institutional culture, and the evolving financial landscape of higher education. Marking IIM Jammu’s 10th year of excellence, he noted that the programme, supported by state-of-the-art infrastructure, will offer participants a distinct competitive edge. He extended New Year greetings and expressed his enthusiasm for meaningful interactions during the programme.

Participants introduced themselves and shared their reflections on the program, discussing their experiences and expectations. The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr.Ramswarup Bhaskar, Program Director, IIM Jammu, followed by the national anthem.

The curriculum is structured into four key themes: leadership, communication, skill development, and recent government initiatives. Over five days, participants will engage in lectures, interactive workshops, group discussions, case studies, role-plays, and practical exercises, ensuring the active application of concepts. Following the inaugural ceremony, participants toured the institute’s campus, gaining insights into its state-of-the-art infrastructure. The participants were also given a tour of theworld-classNalanda Library,Vishrantika Faculty Lounge and smart classrooms.The Nurturing Future Leadership Program aligns with the Malaviya Mission’s vision of empowering educators and leaders to shape India’s educational landscape, reinforcing IIM Jammu’s position as a hub for leadership and innovation.
