JAMMU: Additional District Development Commissioner Jammu Sher Singh today chaired a review meeting to assess the progress and finalise action plans for Mission YUVA for the year 2026-27.
The meeting held detailed deliberations on the key performance indicators and targets set under the mission. These included the mobilisation of new applications at the rate of ten per panchayat or Municipal Corporation Ward per month, with priority accorded to low-performing areas and Vibrant Villages; processing of new applications from Self Help Group (SHG) members; timely preparation and verification of Detailed Project Reports at the sub-division level and expeditious bank sanction and disbursement of cases.
Bank-related functioning was reviewed in detail. Banks were directed to ensure that branches concerned sanction or reject loan cases within 15 days and clearly record reasons for rejection in the remarks column, wherever applicable. The ADDC stressed the need for effective and coordinated implementation of Udyam Jagriti 5.0, the special campaign for SHG women under Mission YUVA.
Mission YUVA is a flagship initiative of the Government of Jammu and Kashmir aimed at promoting entrepreneurship, self-employment and sustainable livelihood opportunities for the youth of the Union Territory.
Among those present were Deputy Director Employment Sunaina Saini, Assistant Director Employment Mukhlis Ali, Lead District Manager Ajay Thappa and other officers from the departments concerned.
