KATHUA: Additional District Development Commissioner Kathua Surinder Mohan Sharma today chaired a review meeting of officers concerned to assess progress under Mission YUVA in the district.
At the outset, Assistant Director District Employment and Counselling Centre (DECC) Kathua Piyusha Khajuria briefed the meeting on student mobilisation in colleges and through Self Help Groups, status of application sanctioning, output tracking, capacity-building initiatives, entrepreneurship mentorship, onboarding of stakeholders on the ONDC platform and staff hiring.
The meeting was informed that 114 training batches comprising 925 aspirants have completed training under the Mission. Further, 20 industries have been onboarded, 14 aspirants have received training certificates in five batches and 28 shops and establishments have been onboarded on the ONDC platform.
Reviewing the progress, the ADDC directed the banks concerned to expedite sanctioning of eligible applications and ensure timely disposal of pending cases. He also instructed Additional Deputy Commissioners and Sub-Divisional Magistrates to closely monitor implementation of the Mission in their respective jurisdictions and submit regular progress reports.
The ADDC further directed college representatives to consolidate registrations of eligible students under Mission YUVA and intensify awareness and mobilisation efforts to ensure maximum participation of youth in the programme.
Emphasising effective utilisation of YUVA Doots and Business Help Desk staff for mobilisation, mentoring and handholding of beneficiaries, the ADDC urged all stakeholders to work in coordination for timely achievement of targets and successful implementation of Mission YUVA across the district.
