RAMBAN: Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Alyas Khan today chaired a meeting to review arrangements for the forthcoming annual local religious yatras, the Raja Shankpal Yatra, Sarvadhar Yatra and Gala Dhar Yatra celebrated in different parts of Ramban district.
Among those present were SSP Arun Gupta, Additional Deputy Commissioner Varunjeet Singh Charak, other district officers and members of the respective Yatra Management Committees.
The Deputy Commissioner held detailed discussions on civil arrangements required for the smooth conduct of the yatras, covering drinking water, healthcare, sanitation, power supply, transportation and other essential services for devotees.
To strengthen arrangements at yatra venues, the DC distributed solar lights to the Yatra Management Committees to address lighting needs in remote and high-altitude areas. He also reviewed the anticipated devotee footfall and assessed arrangements for accommodation, langars and related facilities being made by the committees.
The Deputy Commissioner distributed blankets and other essential items to the committees and assured them of every possible assistance from the district administration. He directed all departments concerned to make the necessary arrangements and maintain close coordination with the Yatra Management Committees for the smooth execution of their respective responsibilities.
SSP Arun Gupta reviewed security arrangements for the yatras, discussed routes and take-off points and advised the Yatra Management Committees to install CCTV cameras at yatra venues, halting points and other strategic locations, ensuring their proper functioning throughout the pilgrimage period. He also stressed the importance of coordination between the police, civil administration and the committees for effective crowd management, emergency response and maintenance of law and order during the yatras.
