BUDGAM:  Forest Department today organized a plantation drive at the picturesque tourist destination of Doodhpathri as part of its ongoing efforts to promote environmental conservation and ecological sustainability.

The drive was attended by Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Khansahib, Jahangir Ahmad Giri, and Munsiff Chadoora, Syed Touyeb Bukhari, among other officials and stakeholders.

The event also drew the attention of tourists visiting Doodhpathri, who enthusiastically witnessed the plantation activity while enjoying the cool breeze and scenic beauty along the banks of the Shaliganga stream. The initiative served not only as an environmental campaign but also as a platform to raise awareness about the importance of preserving natural resources and enhancing green cover.

The continuous plantation drives being undertaken by the Forest Department reflect its steadfast commitment towards environmental protection, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable development. Such initiatives are aimed at mitigating the effects of climate change and ensuring a greener future for coming generations.

Forest officials, staff members of the Doodhpathri Development Authority, and local nomadic communities actively participated in the drive, demonstrating a collective resolve towards safeguarding the region's rich natural heritage.
