SOPORE: In continuation of the ongoing anti-drug enforcement drive under the 100-Day Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan, Police in Sopore apprehended a drug peddler during naka checking in the jurisdiction of Police Post Fruit Mandi.
Dring naka checking at Reban near Panchayat Ghar, a suspicious individual was intercepted and subjected to search. During personal search, psychotropic substance (Spasmoproxyvon Plus capsules) and a charas-like substance were recovered from his possession and seized in accordance with due legal procedure. The accused has been identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Yatoo son of Ghulam Hassan Yatoo resident of Chijhama, Rafiabad.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 138/2026 has been registered at Police Station Sopore and further investigation has been taken up to ascertain the source and wider network involved.
J&K Police reiterates that strict action against drug peddlers and traffickers shall continue across the district. Every effort is being made to dismantle the narcotics ecosystem and prevent the spread of drugs among the youth.
