GANDERBAL: Continuing its sustained efforts against drug abuse and narcotics cultivation under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, J&K Police in Ganderbal, in collaboration with the Excise Department Ganderbal, conducted a Bhang Destruction Drive in and around the premises of Government Degree College Ganderbal and Qamariya Park.
During the drive, Wild Bhang (Cannabis) plants growing in the identified areas were uprooted and destroyed to prevent their misuse and to curb the menace of drug abuse in the district. The initiative was undertaken as part of the ongoing campaign to create a drug-free society and safeguard the students and youth from the harmful effects of narcotic substances.
Police remains committed to take proactive measures against the cultivation, trafficking, and abuse of narcotic drugs and appeals to the general public to support the fight against drugs by sharing information about any such illegal activities with the nearest police establishment.
