JAMMU: Pt. Premnath Dogra was leader of masses of whole of the Jammu and Kashmir. With his efforts Maharaja Hari Singh ji opened the doors of the temples for the Harijan Samaj. His struggle was for political empowerment of Jammu region said almost all the speakers participating in a function (Gosthi) organized by Pt. Prem Nath Dogra Trust (Regd) which was presided over by Prof Nirmal Singh (Ex-Dy Chief Minister) and Chaired by Parshotam Dadhichi, Chairman of the Trust.
The prominent social activists who expressed their views in this function are Chander Mohan Sharma, advocate (Tawi Andolan) Er. Dayasagar, renowned Columnist, Shri Suresh Chander Sharma, Retired District and session judge, Prof. kulbHushan Mahotra, MD Nanaji Deshmukh library, Professor Ajeet Angral Retd. Principal, Shri Arun Gupta, President Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Thakur Narayan Singh ex President Amar khatriya Rajput Sabha, Adv. Purnima Sharma Ex-Deputy Mayor, Pramod Kapahi District President BJP, Rajendra Sharma Ex-Mayor.
It was resolved unanimously that government be approached for declaring holiday on Pandit Ji birthday ,for establishing a chair in Jammu University in the name of Pandit Premnath Dogra and also to process the case for Bharat Ratan award to Pandit ji.
Further the state administration was asked to implement it's resolution which was adopted in state assembly to rename mini stadium parade as Pandit Premnath Dogra stadium and also to allocate special budget for the development of Smailpur the birthplace of Panditji. Vote of thanks was presented by Parshotam Dadhichi, Chairman of the Trust and function was conducted by Aseem Gupta,Trustee.
