RAMGARH: Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal, MLA Ramgarh and Former Minister for Health and Medical Education, Jammu & Kashmir, visited the historic Bamu Temple, a culturally and historically significant site estimated to be around 175–200 years old.
Constructed by Bamu Shah, the temple is built on a small, square-shaped raised platform made of bricks. Its inner and outer walls are beautifully adorned with vibrant wall paintings depicting various episodes from the Ramayana and Mahabharata. Built parallel to the Abtal Temple, it stands as a symbol of the region’s spiritual and artistic heritage. As per historical records, Maharaja Gulab Singh had granted several acres of land to Bamu Shah in recognition of his dedication and service.
During his visit, Dr. Manyal announced the construction of a new road that will connect the historically important sites of Chambyal, Bamu Shah Temple, and Abtal Mandir. This major infrastructure development aims to boost heritage and religious tourism, improve connectivity, and enhance local economic opportunities.
Connecting these sites with a dedicated road will open new avenues for tourism, cultural preservation, and economic development in the region," said Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal. Also present on the occasion were Former BDC Chairman Darshan Singh, Sarpanch Abtal Tajinder Singh, and Anil Gupta, who welcomed the announcement and stressed the importance of preserving such invaluable cultural landmarks.
