POONCH: In a strategic move to bolster the Bharatiya Janata Partyâs (BJP) presence in Jammu and Kashmir, Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Er. Gulam Ali Khatana conducted a series of meetings with party workers on Thursday. The meetings took place at BJP offices in Mendhar, Poonch, and Surankote assembly constituencies of Poonch district, focusing on preparation for the upcoming assembly elections.
Khatana was accompanied by a contingent of BJP leaders, including Sanjeev Kumar, Haji Taj Khan, Yousef Khan, Kafil Khan, Majra Ji, DDC Sohil Malik, Azahr Manhas, Sanjay Karar, Mahtaab Bukhari, district president Rakesh Rain, She Parbahri Gurdeep Singh Khalsa, Lala Manjoor Husain, Capt Ashok Ji, Jangir Khan, Naresh Sharma, Adv Sonal, and several others.
The primary objective of the tour was to energize party workers for the forthcoming assembly elections and to streamline the voter lists. Addressing party leaders during meetings held across three assembly constituencies in Poonch district, MP Khatana outlined a comprehensive strategy for voter engagement and registration.
âBJP BLA1, along with BLA-2 and senior party leaders, will spearhead new voter registration efforts in each constituency,â Khatana stated. He emphasized a door-to-door campaign for new voter registration, set to commence on July 25th. The MP further instructed party workers to meticulously review the draft voters list and take appropriate measures during the Claims and Objections period from July 25th to August 9th. This initiative aims to ensure a thorough and accurate voter list ahead of the elections.
This proactive approach by the BJP leadership signals the party's commitment to strengthening its grassroots presence in Jammu and Kashmir, as it gears up for a crucial electoral battle in the region.
