DODA: The Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) Doda, led by ARTO Rajesh Gupta, launched a rigorous crackdown on traffic violators along NH244. The operation, aimed at ensuring road safety and strict compliance with motor vehicle regulations, involved a dedicated team comprising MVD Inspector Nitin Singh, Arshid Ahmed and staff of MVD Doda.
During the drive, a total of 26 vehicles were issued e-challans for various violations, with the expected collection amounting to Rs. 49,100. The infractions included driving without a Speed Limiting Device (SLD), lack of insurance, overloading in passenger vehicles, not wearing seat belts (7 cases), driving without a Pollution Under Control Certificate (PUCC) and unauthorized vehicle alterations.
The ARTO emphasized the importance of such operations in reducing road accidents and promoting responsible driving behavior among motorists. He reiterated that consistent enforcement of traffic regulations is crucial for ensuring the safety of all road users. He said that the department plans to continue such drives to further instill a culture of compliance and responsibility among the drivers.
