MARWAH (KISHTWAR): Thousands of people gathered in Marwah to attend the funeral prayers (Nimaz e Jinazah) of the eight victims who lost their lives in the tragic road accident on the Sinthan-Kokernag route in Anantnag District Yesterday. Among those attending the funeral was former Minister and Vice President of the Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP), Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, who expressed his deep grief over the incident. Saroori also visited the grieving family to offer his condolences and support.
It is pertinent to mention here that the victims were traveling from Kishtawar via Sinthan Top towards Marwah in a Maruti Swift car bearing number JK03H-9017 when they met with the fatal accident. The family members who perished in this tragic incident were Imtiyaz Rather (45) S/o Ghulam Rasool Rather, Afroza Begum (40) w/o Imtiyaz Ahmad Rather, Reshma (40) W/o Majid Ahmad, Areeba Imtiyaz (12) D/o Imtiyaz Ahmad, Aniya Jan (10) D/o Imtiyaz Ahmad, Abaan Imtiyaz (6) S/o Imtiyaz, Musaib Majid (16) S/o Majid Ahmad, and Mushail Majid (8) S/o Majid Ahmad.
G M Saroori, after visiting the grieving family, stated, "Today, I had the heart-wrenching experience of meeting the family members who lost their loved ones in the tragic road accident on the Sinthan-Kokernag route. My heartfelt condolences go out to the families of the victims" He also stated that it is alarming to witness such incidents becoming more frequent, claiming precious lives and causing irreparable damage to families. He concluded by saying "The authorities must take immediate and comprehensive measures to enhance road safety and ensure that our roads are secure for all travelers."
