JAMMU: The Community Radio Station of the University of Jammu, 91.2 FM Dhwani JU, concluded the second round of two-week Summer Internship Program, marking the end of an intensive and enriching educational experience for all the interns. This Internship Program was thoughtfully designed to provide students with the best possible start in their careers.
The concluding session was conducted by Ms. Mansi Mantoo, Media Officer, University of Jammu. A distinguished media professional acclaimed for her expertise in media reporting, Ms. Mantoo imparted invaluable guidance and instruction to the interns, generously sharing her extensive knowledge and experience in the field. She shared insights on how to make news stories and communicate with confidence. The session, while offering the interns a better understanding of the media landscape, also provided training in effective management of social media handles.
Students from different colleges namely, GGM Science College, Cluster University of Jammu, GCW Bhagwati Nagar, GDC Nagrota and Dogra Degree College, Bari Brahamana, Jammu participated in the Internship Program, seizing the opportunity to engage in a comprehensive range of practical sessions. These included report writing, editing, recording, broadcasting, ethical considerations, etc. where interns mastered the technical and non-technical nuances of radio broadcasting.
The Internship will prove to be highly beneficial for the participants, providing them with practical skills and knowledge indispensable for a successful career in media and broadcasting. The resounding success of this Internship Program underscores the paramount importance of practical hands-on learning experiences in preparing students for their future careers. The knowledge and skills gathered by the interns will significantly contribute to their evolution as successful and proficient media professionals.
In keeping with the vision of the honâble Vice Chancellor, Prof Umesh Rai, emphasising skill-based education, the Community Radio Station, University of Jammu, had designed this program to equip the students with the skills and knowledge needed to pursue a fulfilling career in radio.
