JAMMU: Senior BJP leader and MLA from Bahu Assembly Constituency, Vikram Randhawa has strongly criticized the National Conference (NC) government for neglecting the pressing development concerns of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He said the general population is suffering due to the administration’s apathy towards critical infrastructure and civic issues.

Randhawa expressed serious concern over the poor condition of drains and nallahs across various localities, warning that the ongoing rains could lead to chaos and potential disasters if urgent repairs and clearance efforts are not initiated. He called upon the Urban Environmental Engineering Department (UEED) to act proactively and ensure safety measures are in place before the situation worsens.

He further added that the NC government has failed to live up to the promises it made in its Assembly election manifesto. “The NC sought votes by promising development and good governance, but now it seems to have forgotten its commitments,” Randhawa remarked.

He urged the ruling government to shift its focus from misleading masses to real action and work towards becoming a people-friendly administration that prioritizes public welfare and development. Randhawa made this observation while he held a Public Darbar at the BJP Headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.

Deputations from Gandhi Nagar, Channi Himmat, Nanak Nagar, Gangyal, Bhatindi, Ganeshu Chak Marh, Trikuta Nagar, Bishnah, Gole Market, and other areas presented the issues of outstanding payment from Police Department, issue of damaged smart meters and box by concerned agency, new streetlights, construction of central drain, land dispute, strengthening of wall adjacent to Nallah, delayed Jammu University’s B. Tech result, interconnection of PHE pipes from Bandu Rakh to Ekta Vihar, clearance of underground drain, irregular water supply etc.

Ch. Randhawa patiently heard the grievances presented by the deputations. He immediately conveyed the issues to the concerned department officials pressing for their prompt disposal and also issued written communications for many of the issues. The proceedings of public darbar were coordinated by Er. T.K. Sharma, Co-convenor of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, J&K BJP, ensuring effective interaction between citizens and party leadership.
