KISHTWAR: In a significant move to promote cleanliness and environmental sustainability, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Dr. Devansh Yadav, led a Swachhta drive under the "Swachhata Pakhwada" of the "Suchitra Sangram" initiative at Machail area of Padder, today. Dr. Devansh Yadav was accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Development Phulail Singh, Executive Engineer PHED Sunil Sharma, BMO Padder Dr. Anil Kumar, and police officials, among others.
The drive also saw voluntary participation from the ongoing Shree Machail Mata yatris (pilgrims) and local residents, reflecting a collective commitment to maintaining the sanctity of this revered site.
The Swachhta Pakhwada initiative, which is currently ongoing across the district, aims to instill the spirit of cleanliness and protect the ecological integrity of religious and public places. He appealed to everyone to use the dustbins installed at langar (community kitchen) points, along the route, and at the Bhawan to ensure that waste is disposed of properly.
"Maintaining cleanliness at our religious and public places is not just about aesthetics; it's about respecting our environment and heritage. I urge all visitors and residents to use the facilities provided and help us keep Shree Machail Yatra Bhawan clean and green," said Dr. Yadav.
