POONCH: Deputy Commissioner Poonch today chaired a meeting to assess the damages caused due to the recent natural calamities and to review the progress of restoration measures across the district.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasised the need to prioritise temporary restoration works to provide immediate relief to the affected population. He directed that all urgent nature works be undertaken strictly in accordance with the SDRF guidelines, ensuring transparency, accountability and timely execution.

During the meeting, Superintending Engineers (SEs) and Executive Engineers (XENs) of the concerned departments presented a detailed account of damages and apprised about the works identified for urgent execution. The Deputy Commissioner took a comprehensive review of these proposals and stressed on completing critical works within the shortest possible timeframe.

He also reviewed the tendering process and instructed the concerned officers to expedite all codal formalities to avoid any delays in the initiation of restoration works. The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Chief Planning Officer (CPO), Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD), SEs, XENs and senior officers from line departments associated with disaster management and restoration activities.
