RAJOURI: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Om Prakash Bhagat today launched the Swachhata Pakhwada, a program which aims to spread awareness about the importance of cleanliness and encourage citizens to take active participation in maintaining a clean environment.
The main inaugural program was held in PWD Dak Bungalow Rajouri. During the program, a Swachhata pledge was taken by all attendees, reaffirming their commitment to maintaining cleanliness in their surroundings.
The DC emphasized the importance of collective efforts in achieving a clean and healthy environment. He said that Swatchta Pakhwada is an important initiative towards creating a clean and healthy environment and urged all residents to participate actively in this program for creating maximum awareness on importance of cleanliness in the society.
The Swatchta Pakhwada program will run from 1st August to 15 August 2024, culminating in a massive cleanliness drive and plantation drive across the district. On the occasion, the DC Rajouri also flagged off a van that will travel across the district for making public announcements about the significance of cleanliness and waste management in the society.
The event was attended by the ADDC, Dr Raj Kumar Thapa; ACD, Vijay Kumar; ACP, Sheraz Chowhan; DPO, Mohd Nawaz Choudhary; Block Development Officers, former members of PRIs, students of educational institutions and officials of RDD&PR Rajouri.
