DODA: Government Degree College Kastigarh today organised a meaningful programme combining environmental action and Gandhian values as part of Sewa Parv 2025. The event commenced with a plantation drive, where students and faculty members actively participated in planting saplings across the campus. The initiative aimed to promote environmental sustainability, greenery and a sense of responsibility towards nature.
In addition to the plantation drive, students were inspired by the screening of the iconic movie âGandhiâ, which highlighted Mahatma Gandhiâs principles of truth, non-violence, simplicity and social courage. The screening encouraged students to reflect on the importance of ethical living, community service and personal integrity in shaping a better society.
The initiative provided a platform for students to engage in discussions on environmental protection, social harmony and the relevance of Gandhian philosophy in todayâs world. It emphasized the role of youth in leading change, fostering sustainable practices and building a culture of peace and empathy within their communities. The programme was conducted under the guidance of Principal Prof. Kulbhushan Manhas and the dedicated faculty team of the College, whose efforts ensured active participation, meaningful engagement and the successful integration of practical action with value-based learning.
