AWANTIPORA: In continuation of its ongoing drive against illegal mining, Police in Awantipora have arrested 03 person and seized 03 vehicles used in illegal extraction & transportation of minerals.
A Police party of Police Station Awantipora headed by SHO Police Station Awantipora DySP (P) Atif Zahoor under the supervision of SDPO Awantipora have arrested 03 persons & seized three tippers bearing registration numbers JK01AP-3692, JK13A-5111 & JK 05C- 6652 involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals. They have been identified as Tawseef Ahmad Dar, Mohd Asif Dar both residents of Hatiwara Lethpora and Zahoor Ahamd resident of Khanmoh Srinagar.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR NO. 101/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Awantipora and further investigation has been initiated. Police urged the public to remain vigilant and report any such illegal activities by dialing 112. They assured that strict legal action would be taken against those violating mining regulations.
