AWANTIPORA: In continuation of its ongoing drive against illegal mining, Police in Awantipora have seized 06 tippers and a JCB used in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals.
Acting tough against the persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, A Police party of Police Station Pampore under the supervision of SDPO Pampore, seized 6 tippers bearing registration numbers JK04B-0511, JK16-4199, JK13A-5299, JK01P-3017, JKOIL-9127, JK13B-7470 and 01 JCB without number plate. Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in Police Station Pampore and further investigation has been initiated.
Police are committed to take action against violators who are taking undue advantage of night hours by extracting minerals illegally to the detriment of people health, the ecology and the revenue of the government. Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding illegal mineral-related activities in their neighbourhood.
