SRINAGAR: The Department of Youth Services And Sports J&K, in collaboration with District Administration Srinagar, organized a significant cycle rally and a short marathon on Friday from SKICC to the famous Nishat garden in Srinagar. The primary objective of this event was to raise awareness about the importance of cleanliness and to instill a sense of responsibility towards maintaining a clean environment among the citizens and society.
The flag-off ceremony was graced by Chief Planning Officer (CPO) Srinagar Fayaz Ahmed in the presence of District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO) Srinagar Ghulam Hassan Lone, Zonal Physical Education Officers, and other senior officials of the Department YSS. Over two hundred students representing all sports zones of the District Srinagar enthusiastically participated in the cycle rally and walkathon.
Before the flag-off ceremony, a pledge of SWACHHTA was administered to all participants, emphasizing the importance of cleanliness and environmental preservation. Cash awards were distributed among the winners to recognize their efforts and achievements during the event.
CPO Srinagar highlighted the significance of cleanliness and encouraged the students to take a proactive role in promoting cleanliness in society and their surroundings. Such initiatives are crucial in fostering a culture of cleanliness and environmental sustainability among the youth. The successful completion of the cycle rally and walkathon demonstrates the collective commitment of different Government Departments towards promoting a cleaner and greener environment for the well-being of all.
