- DC Baramulla plants Tree in New Public Park as Part of âEk Ped Shaheedon Ke Naamâ
BARAMULLA: As part of the Swachhta Pakhwada initiative, a formerly unsightly garbage yard along the National Highway near the Railway Station in Baramulla, which had long been used as a dumping ground, has now been converted into a clean and well-maintained public park.
Upon noticing the inconvenience and visual displeasure caused by the garbage yard, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa had issued directives to the Rural Development Department to address the issue and immediate action was taken to clear the garbage and develop the area into a public park.
Today, DC accompanied by the Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Syed Qamar Sajad, visited the site to review the progress on the park. During the visit, DC also planted a tree as part of the âEk Ped Shaheedon Ke Naamâ campaign, honoring the sacrifices of freedom fighters and promoting environmental awareness.
The DC underscored that the park will serve as a valuable addition to the community and will improve the quality of life for the residents of the area. He further emphasized that the administration through this fortnight long campaign of Swachhta Pakhwada has been very active in planting trees at the dumping sites to enhance public spaces and mitigate any inconveniences caused to the population residing in the nearby areas.
The successful completion of this project highlights the districtâs dedication to the Swachh Bharat Mission and its ongoing efforts to improve public sanitation and green spaces.
