SRINAGAR:  On the occasion of World Health Day, 319 Field Hospital in collaboration with 46 Rashtriya Rifles under the aegis of Chinar Corps organised a comprehensive Oral Health Awareness and Management Programme from 7th - 9th Apr 2025. The programme aimed to promote Oral Health Awareness amongst the local populace.

The First day of the camp conducted at Gen BipinRawat Stadium, Baramulla focused on veterans, offering them a thorough dental check-up, along with the distribution of dental aids such as toothbrushes, fluoride and dental floss. The initiative aimed to ensure that dental health is provided to those who may not have access to regular specialized dental services and essential supplies. The camp was met with an overwhelming response where in 100 veterans attended the camp, numerous of whom expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to receive specialized dental care.

The Second day of the camp concentrated on addressing the dental needs of local population with over 300 individuals benefitting from the same. The patients underwent varied procedures such as permanent and temporary restoration, scaling and extractions. Health Education lectures to school children with impetus on maintaining good dental hygiene were undertaken by trained Paradental Staff.

The event concluded on the third day with the release of an innovative Handbook titled "Basic Dentistry in the Field" by GOC, 19 InfDiv at Thimayya Hall. The Handbook designed for Paramedical and Non-dental staff is one of its kind and offers practical insights and procedures for handling basic dental issues in the field, helping healthcare providers deliver effective care when dental specialists are not available.
