SRINAGAR: According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, in order to carry out Branch cutting/ pruning of trees lying in close vicinity of these lines, and carrying out their necessary stabilization, shutdown of several 33KV lines shall be carried out which will subsequently affect power supply to various areas across Srinagar and Ganderbal districts.
The shutdown of 33KV Cheshmashahi-TRC Nedous line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at F1 Centaur, BB Cantt and F4 TRC shall remain off while power supply to F1 Centaur (Zabarvan park), BB Cant Tap line and F4 TRC will be affected from 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM on 06 May, 2025. Also, the shutdown of 33KV Cheshmashahi-TRC-Nedous line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at TRC, F6 shall remain off while power supply to 11 KV F6 TRC will be affected from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon on 06 May, 2025.
Similarly, the shutdown of 33KV Cheshmashahi-Centaur-Buchwar A line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Buchwara and Centaur shall remain off while power supply to BB Cant, Nehru Park, Dalgate, Dal, Zabarvan Park areas will be affected from 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM on 07 May, 2025.
Further, the shutdown of 33KV Cheshmashahi-O/H Double Circuit TRC/Centaur line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Station at Centaur and 33 kV BB Cant Tape line shall remain off while power supply to 33 kV BB Cant Tape line, F2 Centaur area will be affected from 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM on 08 May, 2025.
Likewise, the shutdown of 33KV Habbak-Hazratbal line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Habbak & Hazratbal shall remain off while power supply to Hazratbal, Umer colony, Rangpora, BARC, Habbak, KU, Nigeen, Kanitar, NIT Shrine areas will be affected from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM on 10 May, 2025.
Moreover, the shutdown of 33KV Habbak-Zakura-Burzuhama line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Zakura-Burzuhama shall remain off while power supply to Zakura, Batpora, Gulabbagh, Burzuhama, Chatterhama, Tailbal, Danihama, Khimber & Shuperbagh, Animal Husbandary areas will be affected from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM on 11 May, 2025.
Additionally, the shutdown of 33KV Alusteng-Zakura line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Ahmadnagar, Gulab bagh & Umerheire shall remain off while power supply to Ahmadnagar, Umerheir, Panchayat, Gulab bagh, Pandach, Khalmulla, Pathan Colony areas will be affected from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM on 12 May, 2025.
Furthermore, the shutdown of 33KV GIS Khanyar-Kathidarwaza line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Station at Kathidarwaza shall remain off while power supply to Central Jail, PHE, Pokhribal, Saida Kadal, Kathidarwaza, Mir Behri & Naidyar areas will be affected from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM on 13 May, 2025.
Besides, the shutdown of 33KV Habbak-Lal Bazar line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Lal Bazar and Baghwanpora shall remain off while power supply to Lal Bazar, Molvistop, Botashah Mohalla, Sikh Bagh, Amdakadal, Botakadal & Baghwanpora areas will be affected from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM on 13 May, 2025.
Also, the shutdown of 33KV Wanganpora-Khanyar-Rainawari line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Khanyar, Rainawari shall remain off while power supply to Miskeen Bagh, Makhdoom Sahib, Rozabal, Hazaribagh,, Kondabal, Hassanabad, Jogilankar JLNM Hospital areas will be affected from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM on 14 May, 2025.
The shutdown of 33KV Wanganpora-Takanwari line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Station at Takanwari shall remain off while power supply to Shanglipora, Palpora & Sangam will be affected from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM on 14 May, 2025.
Similarly, the shutdown of 33KV Wanganpora-Soura-SKIMS line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Soura, Zoonimar shall remain off while power supply to Soura, Zoonimar, Nowshera, HVDS, Buchpora, Bohlachpora & Anchar will be affected from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM on 14 May, 2025.
Further, the shutdown of Habbak-Owantabhawan (BAMK)-SKIMS line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Station at Owantabhawan shall remain off while power supply to Owantabhawan & Umer Colony B will be affected from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM on 15 April, 2025.
Likewise, the shutdown of 33KV Pampore- Badamibagh line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Badamibagh, Sonawar, Tangnar, Panthachowk, Lasjan, Govt. Press & Flour Mills shall remain off while power supply to Sonwar, Shivora, Indranagar, badamibagh, WSS Tagnar, Panthachowk, Lasjan will be affected from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM on 17 & 20 May, 2025.
Moreover, the shutdown of 33KV Khunmoh-SIDCO-III line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Cement Plant shall remain off while power supply to Cement Plant Viz Saifco, Khyber, TCI Max areas will be affected from 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM on 24 & 27 May, 2025.
Additionally, the shutdown of 33KV Khumoh-SIDCO-II line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Food Park, Khunmoh, Phase-III shall remain off while power supply to Industrial Area, Khunmoh areas will be affected from 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM on 25 May, 2025.
Furthermore, the shutdown of 33KV Khunmoh-SIDCO-I shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Khunmoh, Old, Balhama, Wuyam, TCI Old shall remain off while power supply to Khunmoh, Chak Sangri JK Ahmad Police, Befina Wuyan, Balhama, TCI Old & Zafran Colony areas will be affected from 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM on 25 May, 2025.
In order to carry out pole erection, the shutdown of 33KV Kangan Surfraw line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Station at Surfraw, Gagangeer shall remain off while power supply to Gund, Gagangeer, Sonamarg, Fraw, Ganiwan areas will be affected from 10:00 AM to 01:30 PM on 06 May, 2025.
Further to facilitate Upgradation/ stabilization of 33 KV Alasteng Nagbal and Alasteng Zakura line, the shutdown of 33KV Alasteng Nagbal line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Alusteng, Nagbal, Gadura, Tulbagh shall remain off while power supply to Shuhama, Bakura, Darend, Nagbal, Fatehpora, Gadoora, Tulbagh, Chunduna, Sherpathri will be affected from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM on 8 & 10 May, 2025.
In this connection, the shutdown of 33KV Alasteng Zakura Line (Pertains to STD-1st) shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Gulab Bagh, Ahmad Nagar, Umarhair shall remain off while power supply to Pandach, Pathan Colony, Gulab Bagh, Mir Mohalla, Umer Hair, Nowbugh, Ahmad Nagar, 90ft road, Khalmulla will remain affected from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM on 08 May, 2025.
Moreover, to facilitate work related to evacuation of power from GIS Harwan, the shutdown of 33KV Burzhama Tap line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Station at Burzhama shall remain off while power supply to Danihama, Khimber, Chatterhama, Telbal, Burzhama, Gassu, Shopperbagh, Rahbagh, Batpora and adjoining areas area will be affected from 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM on 06 May, 2025.

JAMMU: School of Hospitality and Tourism Management (SHTM), University of Jammu organized a visit of MBA (TTM) students to the prestigious 14th FICCI Great Indian Travel Bazaar (GITB) being held in Jaipur. The students working as official volunteers for FICCI had the unique opportunity to gain practical exposure to the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions), event management, and international tourism business.
Prof. Anil Gupta, Director, SHTM, emphasized that this initiative aligns with the visionary approach of Prof. Umesh Rai, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu, who advocates for skill-based and experiential learning. He further said that students active involvement in this international event allowed them to understand the scale, professionalism, and networking dynamics of one of India’s biggest B2B tourism events.
During their visit, the students had the opportunity to interact with Dr. Vikas Gupta, Director, Tourism, Jammu, who commended the efforts of SHTM for encouraging student involvement in such high-level industry platforms. JAMMU: In a major step towards integrating experiential learning into undergraduate education, the University of Jammu, in collaboration with iHub DivyaSampark, IIT Roorkee, and Cyber Intelligence Global LLP, organized its first-ever hands-on Cyber Forensics Workshop for students enrolled in the innovative Design Your Degree (DYD) program. Held at the Skill, Incubation, Innovation & Entrepreneurship Development Centre (SIIEDC), the two-day workshop marked a pioneering initiative in bringing digital forensics training to the undergraduate level.
The workshop, conceptualized as part of the broader academic reforms led by Prof. Umesh Rai, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu, aligns with his vision of embedding skill-based and real-world learning into higher education. Prof. Rai has consistently emphasized the importance of preparing students for the digital age, particularly in the increasingly critical fields of cyber security and forensics.
Convened by Prof. Alka Sharma, Director, SIIEDC, and coordinated by Dr. Jatinder Manhas, Associate Director, SIIEDC, the workshop included expert sessions conducted by Mr. Vishu Datt, Director, Cyber Intelligence Global LLP, New Delhi. A seasoned cyber forensics and intelligence professional, Mr. Datt guided students through the essential concepts of digital evidence collection, forensic tools and technologies, cybercrime investigation protocols, and the fundamentals of cyber law. The sessions combined interactive lectures with real-time demonstrations, allowing students to experience the complexities and nuances of digital investigations firsthand.
The students enthusiastically engaged in practical exercises replicating real-world cybercrime scenarios. The initiative not only provided a unique academic experience but also bridged the gap between classroom knowledge and industry demands.
The workshop was attended by Design Your Degree faculty members including Prof. K.S. Charak, Prof. Anil Gupta, Prof. Sadaf Shah, Dr. Shallu Sehgal, Dr. Sandeep Arya, Dr. Harish Chander Dutt, Dr. Chinmoyee Maharana, Dr. Sunil Bhaugal, Dr. Ripu Daman, Dr. Sandeep Singh, Dr. Pallavi Sachdeva, Dr. Sarika Verma, and Dr. Manish Kumar, whose support highlighted the University's commitment to encouraging progressive and industry-relevant educational practices.
The successful execution of the workshop was made possible through the dedicated efforts of Research Assistant Mr. Mohsin Hassan, and Ph.D. scholars Ms. Ayushi Kotwal, Ms. Renu Sambyal, Ms. Marzia, and Mr. Rahul Sharma, who ensured the smooth coordination and management of the event. Students expressed enthusiastic appreciation for the workshop, describing it as both insightful and impactful.
JAMMU: To strengthen institutional capacity and enhance the technical skills of the field functionaries involved in property registration, the Department of Registration, J&K, in collaboration with the Revenue Training Institute Jammu organized a one-day sensitization-cum-training programme. The focus of the training was on document registration through National Generic Document Registration System (NGDRS) in consonance with the provisions of The Registration Act, 1908, the Stamp Act, Samvat 1977, and other allied rules and regulations in vogue.
The training programme witnessed participation from over 30 officers physically and more than 50 officers virtually, including Registrars, Sub Registrars, Tehsildars and other supporting staff posted across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Inspector General of Registration J&K Bashir Ahmed Bhat, in his inaugural address, congratulated the department for its commendable Revenue contribution amounting to Rs. 600 crore in form of Registration Fees and Stamp Duty during the last financial year. He highlighted the multifaceted responsibilities of Registrars and Sub Registrars and said that the Training Programme aims to sensitize field officers regarding their legal, quasi-judicial, revenue, and statutory duties under the prevailing regulatory framework. He emphasized the participants to attend the training program actively as it would help them in gaining experience and learning the intricacies of document registration.
Earlier, the Training Programme commenced with a welcome address by Principal, Revenue Training Institute, Jammu Sunaina Sharma Mehta, who underscored the importance of continuous skill upgradation and legal orientation for registration personnel. She stated that this online and offline training programme orchestrated jointly by both the departments under the active and able guidance of worthy Financial Commissioner Revenue (ACS), Shaleen Kabra, and Inspector General Registration J&K Bashir Ahmad Bhat, inscribed for achieving greater transparency, accountability, and citizen satisfaction in registration-related services.
The technical sessions were conducted by a panel of domain experts and senior officers including, P. D. Kotwal, President, District Consumer Commission, Jammu and former District & Sessions Judge, who initiated the training with an insightful session on the roles, responsibilities, and legal obligations of Registrars and Sub Registrars under the Registration Act, 1908. This was followed by a technical session on the functioning and features of NGDRS, conducted by representatives from the NGDRS core technical team, which covered end-to- end digital registration processes, citizen service modules, and grievance redressal features.
Then representative from Stock Holding Corporation of India Ltd. (SHCIL) delivered a session on the implementation of e-Stamping and its integration with the NGDRS portal, ensuring secure and tamper-proof stamp duty collection. The State Taxes Department (Stamps Wing) represented by State Taxes Officer, J&K conducted an analytical session on commonly encountered mistakes and misinterpretations while dealing with Schedule I of the Stamp Act, Samvat 1977, with emphasis on field-level implementation and scrutiny.
Executive Engineer (Central), Design Inspection and Quality Control Wing, J&K Shwetanki Sharma conducted a detailed presentation on valuation methodologies for built- up structures and the relevance of valuation in the context of property registration and stamp duty computation. Later on, Farooq Hussain, Tehsildar Consolidation, Jammu, and Ram Lal, Retd. Officer elaborated on relevant provisions of the Land Revenue Act and allied revenue laws governing the registration of documents.
While addressing the gathering, Mansoor Aslam Choudhary emphasized that this initiative reflects the Government's unwavering commitment in improving service delivery in the registration sector. He encouraged participants to utilize the training for enhancing Operational efficiency, minimizing procedural delays, and ensuring greater accuracy in land and property transactions, thereby facilitating ease of doing business and safeguarding citizen rights.
The training programme was also attended by key functionaries of the Department including Riaz Ahmad Wani, Additional Inspector General of Registration, Kashmir; Natasha Kalsotra, Registrar Jammu; Dr. Gurwinderjeet Singh, Registrar Udhampur; Manisha Koul, Registrar Samba; Varinder Gupta, Registrar Reasi and all Sub Registrars of the UT in hybrid mode including their supporting staff.
