SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government today dismissed four employees, belonging to various departments: 02 from Police Department (Constables), 01 from School Education Department (Junior Assistant) and 01 from Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (Village Level Worker) in terms of Article 311 of the Constitution of India for their deep involvement in anti-national activities.
The activities of these below mentioned employees had come to the adverse notice of law enforcement and intelligence agencies, as they found them thickly involved in activities prejudicial to the interests of the State evidencing their involvement in terror related activities.
Imtiyaz Ahmad Lone, Constable in Police Department S/o Mohammad Akram Lone R/o Gamraj, Tral, District Pulwama, was involved in the commission of offence of supplying, transporting and facilitating delivery of Arms and Ammunitions for promotion and executing terror acts.
Bazil Ahmad Mir, Junior Assistant in School Education Department S/o Manzoor Ahmad Mir R/o Khurhama Lalpora, District Kupwara, is also involved in the commission of offence of nurturing drug syndicate in and around Lolab area and has become a full fledged trafficker of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, having direct relationship with the terrorists/secessionists ecosystem.
Mushtaq Ahmad Pir, Selection Grade Constable in J&K Police S/o Abdul Ahad Pir R/o Kalmoona, Vilgam Handwara, District Kupwara, being resident of border area in Kupwara had established contacts with narcotic drug smugglers across the border in Pakistan and was running a drug cartel in the North Kashmir belt. He had a direct association with the kingpins of narco-terror syndicate operating across the border and has a direct relationship with terrorists/secessionists ecosystem.
Mohd. Zaid Shah, Village Level Worker in the Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj S/o Hassam Ul Din Geelani R/o Basgran, Uri, District Baramulla, is a hardcore drug peddler. He had received huge consignment of heroin from drug smugglers across LoC in PoJK, playing pivotal role in the generation of funds derived from narco trade that inevitably gets channelized to sustain terrorists- secessionists ecosystem in J&K.
He was at the forefront of running a drug cartel in north Kashmir belt and was in constant touch with the individuals of J&K Origin, who had exfiltrated into Pakistan in 1990, for terrorist training and are currently settled in PoJK. Government has adopted a Zero tolerance policy towards the anti-national elements who have been taking advantage of being in the Government service.
JAMMU: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, and Additional Director General of Police Jammu, Anand Jain, today reviewed the preparations for Independence Day Celebrations made by the respective District administrations of Jammu Division. Commissioner JMC, MD JPDCL, Deputy Commissioners and SSP of respective districts, HoDs, representatives from line departments, executive agencies, BSF, CRPF, NCC and concerned were present.
During the meeting, the Div Com took appraisal of preparations made for Divisional level function to be organized at MA Stadium in Jammu and the arrangements put in place by District Administrations for Independence Day celebrations across the Jammu Division.
Deputy Commissioner Jammu apprised the Div com about the detailed arrangements planned for the event in Jammu. He informed about the different committees constituted that have been assigned different responsibilities and activities for smooth and successful conduct of the Independence Day celebrations.
The Div Com directed for timely start of the rehearsal of the contingents and cultural items to be part of the Divisional level event. He also instructed the concerned departments for white wash, decoration and relevant repair works at the venue.
The Div Com further took stock of the department-wise arrangements to be put in place by them for the Independence Day celebrations 2024. He impressed on the concerned officers for ensuring best arrangements for the participants and the general public.
Threadbare discussion was held on the barricading, seating arrangements, Parking facilities, traffic regulation, illumination of offices, PAS, provision of Power, water, security arrangements at function venues, sanitation, medicare facilities, contingents, cultural activities.
The Div Com asked for setting up a joint control room with representatives of line departments and appointing Nodal officers for smooth execution of the responsibilities.
The Traffic Department was directed for providing wide publicity of the designated parking spots for the general public and RTC was asked to provide busses for ferrying the participants and public to the venue.
The Div Com directed the Deputy Commissioners to put in place all necessary arrangements well in time. He further asked them to ensure smooth celebrations at Sub division, Block and Panchayat level as well.
Deputy Commissioners were asked to ensure the hoisting of the national flag on every Government building and schools in all the districts. He further directed for visiting the families of freedom fighters, Martyrs on the national festival.
Directions were also issued for organizing Swacchtta Pakhwara from 1-14 August, 2024. The ADGP directed the SSPs to make fool-proof security arrangements to ensure hassle-free celebrations at all the venues by formulating deployment plans well in advance.
SRINAGAR: With the deficit in rainfall in the Valley leading to deficiency in the overall supply of drinking water, the Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri today convened a meeting to address the issue with active intervention of PHE department and District Administrations by optimum utilization of all the available resources across the valley.
Addressing the meeting, Div Com underlined the deficit in rainfall as the reason for scarcity of potable water in different areas. On the occasion, Div Com directed rationalization of distribution of tap water to provide drinking water to all the people so the issue shall be addressed. Besides, he directed augmentation of supply of drinking water to the most affected areas through tankers. In this regard, he also instructed hiring of private tankers to suffice the requirement.
Meanwhile, he directed all Executive Engineers of PHE to optimize the utilization of resources and provide drinking water through tankers to the affected areas regularly by framing the rosters. Besides, he also directed operationalisation of schemes awaiting inauguration to provide the water in view of the present circumstances.
He also instructed for operationalisation of Control Room of PHE Department so the grievances regarding availability of drinking water shall be addressed. The meeting was informed that areas lying at the tail end of the schemes have been mostly affected and the demand is saturated by water tankers.
Director IMD informed the meeting that almost -75% to -80% deficit in rainfall was recorded in most districts of Kashmir Division in the month of July while -45 % to -50% deficit was recorded in the month of June. It was informed that after five days there will be precipitation of rain which will end the dry spell in the Valley.
While directing functioning of Control Room 24*7 in every district, Bidhuri also directed all JEs to remain in touch with the Mohalla Committees of their jurisdiction to address their issue of drinking water. Meanwhile, Div Com also appealed general public to remain patient and asked people not to protest on roads causing inconvenience to passengers.
Earlier, the CE, PHE gave a detailed presentation regarding the status of various water supply schemes functioning in the Valley. The meeting was attended by all Deputy Commissioners of Kashmir Division; Director, IMD; CE, PHE, Superintending Engineers, Executive Engineers, AEEs and other officers.
JAMMU: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh kumar, who is also the Chairman Executive Council of Mubarak Mandi Jammu Heritage Society (MMJHS), today chaired its Executive Council meeting. Commissioner JMC, Executive Director MMJHS, Director Archives, Joint Director Tourism, SE PWD and concerned officers were present.
The meeting discussed different issues and agenda points pertaining to the projects under execution for renovation and preservation of Mubarak Mandi and developing it as a major tourist attraction of Jammu. During the meeting, it was informed that many of the projects like Conservation and Adaptive reuse of Ram Singh’s Queens Palace, Conservation of Darbar Hall, Conservation of Dogra museum are 75% completed.
The Divisional Commissioner directed for speeding up the pace of remaining works being executed under JKIDFC. The participants also deliberated on the possibility of construction of a parking facility for visitors/Tourists of Mubarak Mandi and the general public. The Div Com directed the concerned officials for operationalising the Café in Mubarak Mandi for attracting and facilitating the visitors.
The Div Com further directed for constituting a committee for identifying the activities and projects that can be taken up in the Mubarak Mandi complex under CSR. Discussion was also held on appointing an expert agency for execution of works, strengthening of hill slope along the circular road adjacent to Mubarak Mandi Heritage complex.
JAMMU: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu, under the leadership of Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu in collaboration with the Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce (DICCI), under the aegis of the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Government of India, commenced the Eight batch of the Capacity Building Program on Small Business Development Units (SBDUs).
The inauguration took place at the Srinagar Campus on 22nd July 2024, heralding a new chapter in entrepreneurial empowerment. The eight-batch comprised of 30 participants from various parts of the country ranging including individuals from the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Among the notable attendees were Dr. G. Kahmei, Program Director, IIM Jammu, Dr. Kulwinder Kaur, Program Director, IIM Jammu, Shri Shahid Jibran, Project Manager, SBDU, IIM Jammu and Shri Naren Karunakaran, Consultant, Centre for Small Business Development, IIM Jammu. Dr. G. Kahmei, Program Director, IIM Jammu, gave an overview of the program, setting the stage for an enriching journey of learning and growth.

The inaugural ceremony culminated with the rendition of the national anthem, symbolizing unity and collective aspirations.
