POONCH: The District Administration Poonch joined hands with Indiahikes, a leading private trekking organization, to organize and promote a captivating trek expedition exploring the picturesque landscapes of Poonch.
The collaborative effort, spearheaded by Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Yasin M. Choudhary, aims to showcase the natural wonders and trekking potential of the area. As part of the initiative, Indiahikes has organized a trek that takes participants on a journey through the stunning vistas of the Seven Lakes, a popular trekking route in the region.
The trek expedition commenced on July 9, 2024, with the Indiahikes team trekking from Chandimarh to Thera, covering a distance of 7.8 km. The trek was flagged off by SDM Surankote, Farook Khan.
On the second day, the team trekked from Thera to Khuan, covering a distance of 9.2 km and the third day saw the trek from Kaun to Neelsar, covering a distance of 5.5 km.
"This collaboration between the district administration and Indiahikes is a strategic move to showcase the unparalleled natural beauty and trekking opportunities that Poonch has to offer," said the Deputy Commissioner.
The partnership between the district administration and Indiahikes is expected to significantly increase tourist footfall in the area, further contributing to the growth and development of the region.
RAMBAN: Successful completion of a Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana Grameen (PMAY- G) house of Bahadur Singh, son of Butto Ram at Panchayat Draman in Block Rajgarh, under the Awaas Plus Scheme is a remarkable achievement, marks a significant milestone in ongoing efforts to uplift deprived communities and improve living conditions for all the citizens.
The Rural Development Department sanctioned Rs. 1, 30,000 for Bahadur Singh's dream house, disbursed in three prescribed installments. In addition to financial support, technical assistance was also provided throughout the construction process to ensure the house met all required standards and specifications.
This PMAY house, sanctioned in the fiscal year 2023-24, proved the commitment of the government to providing dignified and stable living conditions for all. Bahadur Singh, who has tirelessly worked as a labourer and small farmer, previously faced numerous challenges living in a kucha house at the same location. The transition to a pukka house noticeably improved his quality of life, offering him and his family a safe and stable environment.
Moreover, Bahadur Singh also benefited from the MG-NREGA scheme, securing 90 days of employment which has significantly contributed to his livelihood. Additionally, a toilet unit worth Rs. 12,000 has been provided, ensuring access to proper sanitation facilities and further enhancing his living conditions. District Administration extends heartfelt congratulations to Bahadur Singh and his family. They are confident that this new chapter in their lives will bring continued happiness, safety, security, and prosperity.
NOWSHERA: BJP J&K General Secretary and Former MLC Vibodh Gupta, accompanied by BJP senior leaders addressed a series of meetings of the party workers at Nowshera.
In his address, Vibodh, highlighted the ongoing peace and development initiatives in Jammu & Kashmir. He credited Prime Minister Modi's leadership for restoring peace and enabling development after the abrogation of Article 370. Vibodh also expressed his concerns over Pakistan’s inability to accept the progress in the region and its cowardly acts are a testament of its frustration and desperation.
“Pakistan is unable to digest the positive changes and the progress we are achieving in Jammu & Kashmir”, Vibodh stated. He assured the gathering that BJP with support of the people, will continue to work tirelessly to thwart any attempts to disrupt peace and harmony in the Union Territory. He called upon the party workers to remain vigilant and united in the face of such challenges, reiterating that the collective strength and determination of the people will ensure that J&K remains on its path of progress led by our visionary PM Modi.
These meetings were also addressed by BJP’s Prabhari Nowshera, Sunderbani-Kalakote Assembly segments Sanju Baru, wherein he mentioned the remarkable progress in infrastructure, education and overall quality of life of the people of J&K. This he said is a testament to the massive efforts of Government which are visible on the ground. He further added that the strength of the people of J&K lies in unity and dedication to the cause of development.
In her address BJP District President Neena Sharma said that active participation from party workers shows their commitment towards the party’s vision for the upcoming assembly elections and pledged to work hard to ensure victory of the party. JAMMU: BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh , who is also the party incharge for J&K, today said that both Farooq and Omar Abdullah should be declared ambassadors of Pakistan in India because they are only echoing the sentiments of Pakistan ISI without realizing how much growth and development has happened in J&K.
Launching a strong attack on both the Abdullahs the BJP leader said they have no consideration for the armed forces that are performing their duties round-the-clock to defeat the designs of the Pakistan ISI.
But as soon as an attack happens from the ISI-sponsored terrorists, the Abdullah family quickly goes to the rescue of the terrorists and try to run down the Modi government.
Chugh said ever since Article 370 has been removed there is a new era of development in J&K. There are no more incidents of stone-throwing or strikes, there has been near peace in J&K.
"Basically the Abdullahs have understood that they were fast losing ground in J&K as the people have understood their nefarious designs. People want upscale education and employment which the Modi government has given them and would keep doing it", Chugh said.
He said Mufits and Abdullahs have kept J&K in dark for so many ages but after the abrogation of Article 370 a new era of development and progress has come about in J&K which is not to the liking of the Abdullahs and Muftis. "Their covert support to the Pakistan ISI designs is not just reprehensible but a big anti-national stance", Chugh added.
SRINAGAR: SANKALP Hub For Empowerment of Women, Mission Shakti Srinagar, Department of Social Welfare organised career counselling cum sensitization programme under Beti Bachao Beti Padao in collaboration with Govt.Degree college Nawakadal for the female students of college.
The significance of the programme was to help in understanding the importance of career options like how to pursue different careers, selection of the appropriate career and aid on the development of confidence and skills. Various experts in this regard were invited who shared their expertise on various topics viz-a-viz career and its development, career opportunities after 10th and self-employment opportunities/ schemes.
The Principal Nawa Kadal College Prof. Dr Mohammad Farooq Mir while speaking on the occasion about Career counselling as a process that will help in knowing and understanding oneself and the world of work in order to make career, educational and life decisions.
Career counselling provides guidance in decision making, clarity in career goals, skill development, strategies for overcoming challenges, advice on job searches and increases confidence, he said.
