SRINAGAR: Chief Secretary, Atal Dulloo today chaired a meeting to take stock of physical status of transit accommodations being constructed for PM package employees from migrant Kashmiri Pandit community across different districts of valley.
The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary, Home, Commissioner Secretary, FCS&CA, Secretary, R&B, Secretary, DMRR&R, Relief Commissioner, Chief Engineers and other concerned officers.
During this meeting, the Chief Secretary took note of flats completed so far by executing agencies and asked them about the timeline for completing those presently under progress.
He enquired about the status of blocks raised at each of 12 locations in different districts of the valley. He asked about the physical progress made in each of the project taken in hand and the time by which these works are going to be finished in all respects.
The Chief Secretary emphasised on completing all these blocks as per the deadlines fixed without any fail. He also enjoined upon the Relief Commissioner to allot the furnished flats to the eligible candidates forthwith. He called for taking up other works too for ensuring their early completion.
In a detailed presentation, Secretary, DMRR&R, Anil Koul while giving overview of whole scheme, provided location wise progress registered in creation of additional accommodations for these package employees.
It was given out that out of the total 6000 flats to be made for the same number of employees, around 4800 had already been taken-up for completion at different locations.
It was further revealed that the construction of 2088 flats has been completed till date of which 998 have been allotted to genuine applicants. It was also given out that work on 2712 flats is at advanced stage of completion and these are going to be handed over in next few months for allotment.
Giving further details, it was informed that since the onset of April this year, construction of 536 new flats had been taken in hand and 392 flats had also been completed, resulting in net addition of about 144 flats during this period.
The meeting also deliberated upon the issue of inclusion of Kashmiri Migrant families into the NFSA database for extending the benefits of different social security benefits to them. It also held discussions over package extend by MHA to the refugees including those belonging to years of 1947/1965/1971 as well as from West Pakistan.
JAMMU: Transport Commissioner J&K S. Rajinder Singh Tara today visited the Regional Transport Officer Jammu to review the service delivery by different sections. During the visit, the Transport Commissioner inspected all sections including the Driving license section, vehicle registration section, Transfer of Ownership section and Fitness Board related services. He also saw randomly selected footage of Driving skill test and fitness of vehicles conducted by different boards.
Regional Transport Officer Pankaj Bhagotra provided comprehensive details regarding the functioning of each section. Taking serious note of pending applications for various services, the Transport Commissioner asked ARTOs to strictly adhere to the PSGA guidelines to facilitate people with time bound services as prescribed in the Act. He also asked for prioritizing disposal of all long pending cases related to fitness of Vehicles as the same plays a significant role in ensuring road safety. He asked the concerned officers to ensure that all applications regarding different services are disposed of in a time bound and transparent manner.
He further instructed RTO Jammu to conduct periodic review of the services delivery mechanism so that all applications are timely approved and the applicants avail the services in a hassle free and comfortable manner. He further directed all concerned ARTOs to ensure that applicants be informed immediately through a system generated SMS about the deficiency in documents, if any, without unnecessary delay.
Later, the Transport Commissioner also inspected the vacant locations adjoining the RTO office and suggested that the same can be utilized for the construction of A.T.S or some other modern facility. Joint Transport Commissioner J&K Vinay Samotra, Additional Secretary Road Safety Council Paramveer Singh, ARTO HQ, ARTO (B&P) were also present during the course of inspection.
JAMMU: In a first of its kind initiative, ninety six (96) students of the Government SPMR College of Commerce Jammu completed their mandatory summer internship from Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) here on Friday.
The undergraduate students of the SPMR College completed their 10 day (60 hours) Summer Internship which started on June 24 here at Bari-Brahmana campus of the institute JKEDI. As per the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020, all the undergraduate students have to complete 60 hours of internship program to complete their degree.
The interns were briefed about the role and functioning of various verticals/sections of JKEDI. They were made aware about the various activities undertaken by JKEDI including Entrepreneurship Awareness Programs (EAPs), Entrepreneurship Orientation Programs and Entrepreneurship Development Programs (EOPS and EDPs) to promote entrepreneurship as a career choice among unemployed youth of J&K.
An idea pitching workshop and business simulations were held for the interns wherein real time exposure of running a successful business venture was provided to them. These activities helped the interns to gain insight with respect to the various challenges faced by an entrepreneur and the ways to overcome the same.
At the valedictory session, Director JKEDI, Rajinder Kumar Sharma, interacted with the interns and discussed the importance of entrepreneurship and innovation. He stressed upon the interns to acquire vocational training skills in order to be job oriented in today’s competitive environment. He congratulated the interns on completing their internship successfully and promised them all possible support and guidance in future.
The internship program was conducted by Centre for New Enterprise Creation (CNEC), a program vertical of JKEDI under the supervision of Dr. Vinod Sharma and Dr. Amit Sharma, faculty at JKEDI.

REASI: Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Vishesh Mahajan, who is also the Vice Chairman of Shivkhori Shrine Board (SSKSB), on Friday chaired a meeting to discuss the arrangements for the Shivkhori Shravan Mahotsav 2024 with functionaries of Government Departments and representatives of hospitality sector.
The annual Mahotsav, scheduled to run from 22 July to 19 August, attracts thousands of devotees from across the country to the sacred shrine of Shivkhori. The meeting focused on making all necessary preprations for the smooth conduct of the festival.
Deputy Commissioner Mahajan highlighted that the Mahotsav would feature different spiritual activities, including Shiv kathas, besides devotional songs dedicated to Lord Shiva by renowned singers and local artists.
Mahajan asked JD Tourism Sunaina Sharma, who joined the meeting virtually, to ensure wide publicity of the Shivkhori Shravan Mahotsav, to attract maximum number of devotees and enhance the overall reach and participation in the festival.
The discussion included robust security arrangements, with adequate police deployment and surveillance to ensure safety of the visitors. The provision of medical camps and emergency response teams was emphasized to handle any health-related issues that may arise during the event. Additionally, strict cleanliness and sanitation measures will be implemented to maintain the sanctity of the shrine and its surroundings.
Local Self-Help Groups (SHGs) will be provided space to put up traditional food stalls, offering a taste of local cuisine to the visitors. Deputy Commissioner Mahajan emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts among all departments and stakeholders to ensure the festival's success.
The meeting was attended by ADC Kulbushan Khajuria; Executive Officer SSKSB Pardeep Kumar; Xen JPDCL, PWD and Jal Shakti, BMO, BDO HQ, DSP HQ. President Hotel Association Katra Rakesh Wazir; Vice President Hotel Association Varinder Kesar and Chairman Hotel Association Sham Lal Kesar also attended the meeting. Joint Director Tourism Sunina Sharma and AD Tourism Katra joined virtually.
JAMMU: J&K Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) registered a case against Dil Pazeer, Junior Engineer posted in Jal Shakti Department, Division Poonch vide FIR no. 04/2024 PS ACB Rajouri U/s 13(1)(b) r/w section 13(2) Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (as amended in 2018).
The instant case was registered on the outcome of a verification conducted by ACB into the allegations of accumulation of assets disproportionate to known source of income by above named accused person. The verification conducted has revealed that the above named public servant has accumulated various moveable and immoveable assets in his name as well as in the name of his family members, the detail of which is (a) Three houses situated near Govt. PG College Kheora Rajouri having market value worth in crores, (b) Double storey house constructed on plot No. 10N Gujjar Colony Sunjwan Jammu, having market value worth in lacs, (c) Vehicle Scorpio S-11 bearing No. JK11F-5433 (Make 2022) with date of registration as 12th of April 2022. Besides, the public servant as well as his family members are also in possession of other properties.
In this way, the above named public servant namely Dil Pazeer, Junior Engineer, posted in Jal Shakti Department Division Poonch S/o Late. Sh. Mohd. Sadeeq R/o Dodasan Bala has enriched himself illicitly by indulging in corrupt practices which prima facie attract commission of offence under section 13(1) (b) r/w 13(2) Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (as amended in 2018) for possession of assets which are prima facie disproportionate to his known source of income.
Anti-Corruption Bureau after registration of a formal case under relevant sections of law, also conducted simultaneous searches with the help of local police in presence of Magistrates/Independent Witnesses at the premises of above named accused person in District Jammu and District Rajouri. Detailed and in-depth scrutiny of the seized record will be carried out during further course of investigation.
