JAMMU: Former Deputy Mayor Jammu & BJP senior leader Baldev Singh Billawaria met Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Devansh Yadav to highlight the problems faced by the general public of Jammu. Speaking on the occasion, Billawaria said that a lot of things came to light during the meeting with the Municipal Corporation Commissioner. He urged the Commissioner to take immediate action to provide relief to the citizens.
During the meeting, various issues, demands and problems being faced by the residents of Jammu were discussed in detail, highlighting the ongoing development work, cleaning of lanes and drains, proper functioning of street lights and other related work of Jammu. He demanded immediate action to redress these grievances so as to ensure effective delivery of basic amenities to the people. Billawaria said that the EESL company has failed to provide smooth functioning of street lights to the people of Jammu city.
Billawaria, further said that several delegations of market associations have lodged complaints with him regarding the non-functioning of street lights and the ongoing project of beautification of Jammu Bazar under Smart City. He urged the Corporation Commissioner to repair the street lights installed in all the markets and mohallas on priority on Holi festival. He said that the work being done by the sanitation corporation commissioner Devansh Yadav and his team for cleanliness in Jammu city is commendable and praiseworthy.
He stressed that cleanliness is the responsibility of every citizen and urged the people to use dustbins for disposal of their garbage and keep their surroundings clean. He appealed to the citizens to bring Jammu city ranking up from the bottom in Swachh Survekshan" and said that they should not throw garbage in the deep drains of their area and cooperate with the municipal corporation. He further said that if the citizens of Jammu cooperate with the Jammu Municipal Corporation, then the ranking of Jammu city will increase compared to last time.
He said that though the term of the corporators who represent Jammu Municipal Corporation has ended, but the corporators are still solving the problems of the people by coordinating with the officers of the Municipal corporation. Jammu Muncipal Corporation Commissioner Devansh Yadav listened the various demands raised by former Deputy Mayor Jammu Baldev Singh Billawaria and assured that the Municipal Corporation will give priority to these issues and work towards finding solutions.
